Local available quantum correlations for Bell Diagonal states and Markovian decoherence

Abstract

Local available quantum correlations (LAQCs), as dened by Mundarain et al. [19], are analytically determined for Bell Diagonal states. Using the Kraus operators formalism [10], we analyze the dissipative dynamics of 2-qubit LAQCs under Markovian decoherence. This is done for Werner states under the depolarizing [20] and phase damping channels [21]. Since Werner states are among those that exhibit the so called entanglement sudden death [27], the results are compared with the ones obtained for Quantum Discord [22], as analyzed by Werlang et al. [24], as well as for entanglement, i.e. Concurrence[7]. The LAQCs quantier, as Quantum Discord does, only vanishes asymptotically.

Local available quantum correlations of X states: The symmetric and anti-symmetric cases

Hermann L. Albrecht Q, David Bellorín, Douglas F. Mundarain

Local available quantum correlations (LAQC), as defined by Mundarain et al., are analyzed for two-qubit X states with local Bloch vectors of equal magnitude. Symmetric X-states are invariant under the exchange of subsystems, hence having the same Bloch vector. On the other hand, anti-symmetric X states have Bloch vectors with an equal magnitude but opposite direction. In both cases, we obtain exact analytical expressions for their LAQC quantifier. We present some examples and compare this quantum correlation to concurrence and quantum discord. We have also included Markovian decoherence, with Werner states under amplitude damping decoherence. As is the case for depolarization and phase damping, no sudden death behavior occurs for the LAQC of these states with this quantum channel.

Quantum correlations in mutually unbiased bases and non-Markovian dephasing

Hermann L. Albrecht, David M. Bellorin

Wu et al. introduced a symmetric measure $Q^{s}$ in terms of mutually unbiased bases (MUBs) that quantifies residual quantum correlations (RQC). The definition of this measure involves determining two complementary local bases via an optimization of the quantum mutual information. One defines the first local bases, the optimal computational ones, by maximizing the classical correlations measure. Next, one defines a new set of local bases that are complementary to the first ones. In the latter, one also calculates the corresponding measure of quantum correlations by maximization. Considering alternative optimizations of the mentioned measures, one can define other quantifiers. In particular, Mundarain and Ladrón de Guevara introduced local available quantum correlations (LAQC, $\mathcal{L}$) in terms of the complementary local bases to the ones defining the least classically correlated state. That is, they characterize LAQC by defining the optimal bases as those that minimize the classical correlations measure. This type of quantum correlation is closely related to an entanglement activation protocol proposed by Piani et al. In previous articles, we derived an exact solution for the LAQC measure for 2-qubit X states. Based on these previous results and methodology, we determine the corresponding exact analytical expression for $Q^s$ of 2-qubit X states. We then analyze the behavior of these two measures for two non-Markovian quantum dephasing channels: Random Telegraph (RT) and Modified Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (MOU) noises. We derive general conditions for sudden death and revival of these measures in X states and illustrate these results with four families of bipartite qubit states: Werner states, Maximally Nonlocal Mixed States (MNMS), Maximally Entangled Mixed States (MEMS), and a mixed symmetric separable state.

Local available quantum correlations of non-symmetric X-states

David Bellorín, Hermann L. Albrecht Q, Douglas F. Mundarain

Local available quantum correlations (LAQC), as defined by Mundarain et al., are analyzed for nonsymmetric 2-qubit X states, that is, X states that are not invariant under the exchange of subsystems and therefore have local Bloch vectors whose norms are different. A simple analytic expression for their LAQC quantifier is obtained. As an example, we analyze the local application of the amplitude damping channel for Werner states and general X states. Although this local quantumchannel can create quantum discord in some cases, no such outcome is possible for LAQC, which hints toward their monotonicity under LOCC operations. This work, along with our previous result for the so-called symmetric and anti-symmetric X states, completes the pursuit of exact analytical expressions for the LAQC quantifier for 2-qubit X states.

Studying quantum correlations dynamics in the phase space for continuous-variable Werner states and Bell-diagonal states

Fatima-Zahra Siyouri, Hicham Ait Mansour, Fadoua Elbarrichi

We investigate the ability of Wigner function to reveal and measure general quantum correlations in two-qubit open system. For this purpose, we analyze comparatively their dynamics for two different states, continuous-variable Werner states (CWS) and Bell-diagonal states (BDS), independently interacting with dephasing reservoirs. Then, we explore the effects of decreasing the degree of non-Markovianity on their behavior. We show that the presence of both quantum entanglement and quantum discord allow to have a negative Wigner function, in contrast to the result obtained for the closed two-qubit system [F. Siyouri, M. El Baz and Y. Hassouni, The negativity of Wigner function as a measure of quantum correlations, Quantum Inf. Process. 15(10) (2016) 4237–4252]. In fact, we conclude that negativity of Wigner function can be used to capture and quantify the amount of general non-classical correlations in open quantum systems.

Dynamics of local quantum uncertainty for a two-qubit system under dephasing noise

Cheng Yang, You-neng Guo, Hu-Ping Peng +1 more

Abstract Recently, local quantum uncertainty (LQU) as a measure of quantum correlations has been proposed by Girolami et al . We here have investigated the LQU dynamics in a pair of qubits system subjected to either local or collective classical phase noises. The explicit analytical expressions of LQU for the two-qubit system of interest initially in a Werner state under these dephasing noises have been derived. We compare the dynamics of LQU with that of entanglement as measured with concurrence. Our results show that LQU always decays asymptotically while the entanglement displays sudden death phenomenon. Besides, there is no simple relation between the LQU and entanglement since LQU may be smaller or larger than entanglement. Finally, we try to protect LQU against the dephasing noise by means of filtering operation.

A study of Quantum Correlation for Three Qubit States under the effect of Quantum Noisy Channels

Pratik K. Sarangi, Indranil Chakrabarty

We study the dynamics of quantum dissension for three qubit states in various dissipative channels such as amplitude damping, dephasing and depolarizing. Our study is solely based on Markovian environments where quantum channels are without memory and each qubit is coupled to its own environment. We start with mixed GHZ, mixed W, mixture of separable states, a mixed biseparable state, as the initial states and mostly observe that the decay of quantum dissension is asymptotic in contrast to sudden death of quantum entanglement in similar environments. This is a clear indication of the fact that quantum correlation in general is more robust against the effect of noise. However, for a given class of initial mixed states we find a temporary leap in quantum dissension for a certain interval of time. More precisely, we observe the revival of quantum correlation to happen for certain time period. This signifies that the measure of quantum correlation such as quantum discord, quantum dissension, defined from the information theoretic perspective is different from the correlation defined from the entanglement-separability paradigm and can increase under the effect of the local noise. We also study the effects of these channels on the monogamy score of each of these initial states. Interestingly, we find that for certain class of states and channels, there is change from negative values to positive values of the monogamy score with classical randomness as well as with time. This gives us an important insight in obtaining states which are freely sharable (polygamous state) from the states which are not freely sharable (monogamous). This is indeed a remarkable feature, as we can create monogamous states from polygamous states Monogamous states are considered to have more signatures of quantum ness and can be used for security purpose.
