Abstract

The relationship between classical and quantum three one-mode systems interacting in a non-linear way is described. We investigate the integrability of these systems by using the reduction procedure. The reduced coherent states for the quantum system are constructed. We find the explicit formulas for the reproducing measure for these states. Examples of some applications of the obtained results in non-linear quantum optics are presented.

Coherent States of Non-Linear Algebras:Application to Quantum Optics

V. Sunilkumar, Bindu A. Bambah, R. Jagannathan +2 more

We present a general unified approach for finding the coherent states of polynomially deformed algebras such as the quadratic and Higgs algebras, which are relevant for various multiphoton processes in quantum optics. We give a general procedure to map these deformed algebras to appropriate Lie algebras. This is used, for the non compact cases, to obtain the annihilation operator coherent states, by finding the canonical conjugates of these operators. Generalized coherent states, in the Perelomov sense also follow from this construction. This allows us to explicitly construct coherent states associated with various quantum optical systems.

Coherent states and path integrals for model hamiltonians in quantum optics

Alexander V. Gorokhov

A brief review of applications of the coherent states (CSes) in quantum optics is given. The CS representation of path integrals in the semi-classical approximation leads to the classical dynamics of CS parameters. Calculations of squeezing in the model of spontaneous parametric scattering are performed and the chaos in the collective dynamics of three-level atoms interacting with resonant photon modes is studied.

$\mathscr{H}_2$ Model Reduction for Augmented Model of Linear Non-Markovian Quantum Systems

Guangpu Wu, Shibei Xue, Guofeng Zhang +3 more

An augmented system model provides an effective way to model non-Markovian quantum systems, which is useful in filtering and control for this class of systems. However, since a large number of ancillary quantum oscillators representing internal modes of a non-Markovian environment directly interact with the principal system in these models, the dimension of the augmented system may be very large causing significant computational burden in designing filters and controllers. In this context, this paper proposes an $\mathscr{H}_2$ model reduction method for the augmented model of linear non-Markovian quantum systems. We first establish necessary and sufficient conditions for the physical realizability of the augmented model of linear non-Markovian quantum systems, which are more stringent than those for Markovian quantum systems. However, these physical realizability conditions of augmented system model pose non-convex constrains in the optimization problem of model reduction, which makes the problem different from the corresponding classical model reduction problem. To solve the problem, we derive necessary conditions for determining the input matrix in the reduced model, with which a theorem for designing the system matrix of the ancillary system in the reduced system is proved. Building on this, we convert the nonlinear equality constraints into inequality constraints so that a semidefinite programming algorithm can be developed to solve the optimization problem for model reduction. A numerical example of a two-mode linear quantum system driven by three internal modes of a non-Markovian environment validates the effectiveness of our method.

Some integrable systems in nonlinear quantum optics

Maciej Horowski, Anatol Odzijewicz, Agnieszka Tereszkiewicz

In the paper we investigate the theory of quantum optical systems. As an application we integrate and describe the quantum optical systems which are generically related to the classical orthogonal polynomials. The family of coherent states related to these systems is constructed and described. Some applications are also presented.

General integrable n-level, many-mode Janes-Cummings-Dicke models and classical r-matrices with spectral parameters

T. Skrypnyk

Using the technique of classical r-matrices and quantum Lax operators, we construct the most general form of the quantum integrable “n-level, many-mode” spin-boson Jaynes-Cummings-Dicke-type hamiltonians describing an interaction of a molecule of N n-level atoms with many modes of electromagnetic field and containing, in general, additional non-linear interaction terms. We explicitly obtain the corresponding quantum Lax operators and spin-boson analogs of the generalized Gaudin hamiltonians and prove their quantum commutativity. We investigate symmetries of the obtained models that are associated with the geometric symmetries of the classical r-matrices and construct the corresponding algebra of quantum integrals. We consider in detail three classes of non-skew-symmetric classical r-matrices with spectral parameters and explicitly obtain the corresponding quantum Lax operators and Jaynes-Cummings-Dicke-type hamiltonians depending on the considered r-matrix.

Integrability and non-integrability in quantum mechanics

Marek Kuś

The concepts of integrability, non-integrability and chaos in quantum mechanics are examined, and it is indicated that they all are sensibly definable only in connection with the corresponding properties of their classical analogues. The concrete examples concern the quantum and classical properties of dynamic systems on SU3 algebra and classically integrable but quantum nonintegrable system with two degrees of freedom.
