Abstract

We discuss the procedure of different partitions in the finite set of $N$ integer numbers and construct generic formulas for a bijective map of real numbers $s_y$, where $y=1,2,\ldots,N$, $N=\prod \limits_{k=1}^{n} X_k$, and $X_k$ are positive integers, onto the set of numbers $s(y(x_1,x_2,\ldots,x_n))$. We give the functions used to present the bijective map, namely, $y(x_1,x_2,...,x_n)$ and $x_k(y)$ in an explicit form and call them the functions detecting the hidden correlations in the system. The idea to introduce and employ the notion of "hidden gates" for a single qudit is proposed. We obtain the entropic-information inequalities for an arbitrary finite set of real numbers and consider the inequalities for arbitrary Clebsch--Gordan coefficients as an example of the found relations for real numbers.

New Entropic Inequalities and Hidden Correlations in Quantum Suprematism Picture of Qudit States

Margarita A. Man’ko, Vladimir I. Man’ko

We study an analog of Bayes’ formula and the nonnegativity property of mutual information for systems with one random variable. For single-qudit states, we present new entropic inequalities in the form of the subadditivity and condition corresponding to hidden correlations in quantum systems. We present qubit states in the quantum suprematism picture, where these states are identified with three probability distributions, describing the states of three classical coins, and illustrate the states by Triada of Malevich’s squares with areas satisfying the quantum constraints. We consider arbitrary quantum states belonging to N-dimensional Hilbert space as ( N 2 − 1 ) fair probability distributions describing the states of ( N 2 − 1 ) classical coins. We illustrate the geometrical properties of the qudit states by a set of Triadas of Malevich’s squares. We obtain new entropic inequalities for matrix elements of an arbitrary density N×N-matrix of qudit systems using the constructed maps of the density matrix on a set of the probability distributions. In addition, to construct the bijective map of the qudit state onto the set of probabilities describing the positions of classical coins, we show that there exists a bijective map of any quantum observable onto the set of dihotomic classical random variables with statistics determined by the above classical probabilities. Finally, we discuss the physical meaning and possibility to check derived inequalities in the experiments with superconducting circuits based on Josephson junction devices.

New information-entropic relations for Clebsch–Gordan coefficients

V. N. Chernega, O. V. Manko, V. I. Manko +1 more

Using properties of the Shannon and Tsallis entropies, we obtain new inequalities for the Clebsch–Gordan coefficients of the group SU(2). For this, we use squares of the Clebsch–Gordan coefficients as probability distributions. The obtained relations are new characteristics of correlations in a quantum system of two spins. We also find new inequalities for Hahn polynomials and the hypergeometric functions 3 F 2 .

Hidden correlations and entanglement in single-qudit states

Margarita A. Man’ko, Vladimir I. Man’ko

We discuss the notion of hidden correlations in classical and quantum indivisible systems along with such characteristics of the correlations as the mutual information and conditional information corresponding to the entropic subadditivity condition and the entropic strong subadditivity condition. We present an analog of the Bayes formula for systems without subsystems, study entropic inequality for von Neumann entropy and Tsallis entropy of the single-qudit state, and discuss the inequalities for qubit and qutrit states as an example.

Entanglement and other quantum correlations of a single qudit state

Margarita A. Man’ko, Vladimir I. Man’ko

The approach to extend the notion of entanglement for characterizing the properties of quantum correlations in the state of a single qudit is presented. New information and entropic inequalities, such as the subadditivity condition, strong subadditivity condition, and monotonicity of relative entropy for a single qudit corresponding to an arbitrary spin state with spin j are discussed. The idea to employ quantum correlations in the single-qudit state, such as the entanglement, for developing a new quantum technique in quantum computing and quantum communication is proposed. Examples of qutrit and qudit with j = 3/2 are considered.

New correlation relations in classical and quantum systems with different numbers of subsystems1

Igor Ya. Doskoch, Margarita A. Man’ko

Abstract We present a review of the general approach to the problem of correlations in classical statistics and quantum statistics of systems with different numbers of subsystems and demonstrate the information-entropic relations for systems without subsystems recently obtained for Shannon entropies. We present the example of a single-qudit state corresponding to the N-level atom, consider explicitly the qutrit state, and show that qutrit can be interpreted as a set of several qubits. For each of these qubits, there exist corresponding von Neumann entropies, and constraints for these entropies determine the hidden correlations between the qubits in spite of the fact that the qutrit does not contain any subsystem. These constraints are expressed in terms of nonnegativity of the mutual information introduced, which usually exists only for the states of systems with subsystems. The value of information parameterizes the hidden correlations of artificial qubits in the system. We discuss examples of some qudits.
