For the symmetric harmonic oscillator and the symmetric bouncer defined in 2-D, two different Hamiltonian are given describing the same classical dynamics; however, their quantum dynamics behavior are different.
We study classical and quantum dynamics of the symmetric harmonic oscillator and the symmetric bouncer defined in 2-D. For these systems we get each of them for two different constants of motion, two Lagrangians and two Hamiltonians which describe the same classical dynamics. However, the quantization of these systems (using Schrödinger equation), using their two equivalents Hamiltonian, describes different quantum dynamics for each of them. This represents an ambiguity on the Hamiltonian formulation of the Quantum Mechanics.
We discuss the classical and quantum mechanical evolution of systems described by a Hamiltonian that is a function of a solvable one, both classically and quantum mechanically. The case in which the solvable Hamiltonian corresponds to the harmonic oscillator is emphasized. We show that, in spite of the similarities at the classical level, the quantum evolution is very different. In particular, this difference is important in constructing coherent states, which is impossible in most cases. The class of Hamiltonians we consider is interesting due to its pedagogical value and its applicability to some open research problems in quantum optics and quantum gravity.
We investigate bicomplex Hamiltonian systems in the framework of an analogous version of the Schrödinger equation. Since in such a setting three different types of conjugates of bicomplex numbers appear, each is found to define, in a natural way, a separate class of time reversal operator. However, the induced parity ( )-time ( )-symmetric models turn out to be mutually incompatible, except for two of them which could be chosen uniquely. The latter models are then explored by working within an extended phase space. Applications to the problems of harmonic oscillator, inverted oscillator and isotonic oscillator are considered and many new interesting properties are uncovered for the new types of symmetries.
The dynamics of driven binary oscillators in the PT-symmetric harmonic potential is investigated and the corresponding analytical solutions of the time-dependent wave function are obtained. Our numerical results exhibit that there is the population oscillation, which is different from the case of normal dissipation or gain systems. After studying the motion of driven harmonic oscillators which are coupled via the E⨂e Jahn-Teller effect in the Hermitian potential, we find that the dynamics behavior of these two systems is similar under certain conditions. As we know, the oscillation behavior is induced by the exchange interaction in the oscillator system with Jahn-Teller coupling. Our study shows that the binary quantum systems with PT-symmetric Hamiltonians may be used to approximately describe the dynamics of coupling quantum systems and the quantum transport process in few-particle or other systems.
