Abstract

Harmonic oscillator coherent states are well known to be the analogue of classical states. On the other hand, nonlinear and generalised coherent states may possess nonclassical properties. In this article, we study the nonclassical behaviour of nonlinear coherent states for generalised classes of models corresponding to the generalised ladder operators. A comparative analysis among them indicates that the models with quadratic spectrum are more nonclassical than the others. Our central result is further underpinned by the comparison of the degree of nonclassicality of squeezed states of the corresponding models.

An observation of quadratic algebra, dual family of nonlinear coherent states and their non-classical properties, in the generalized isotonic oscillator

V. Chithiika Ruby, Murugaian Senthilvelan

In this paper, we construct nonlinear coherent states for the generalized isotonic oscillator and study their non-classical properties in detail. By transforming the deformed ladder operators suitably, which generate the quadratic algebra, we obtain Heisenberg algebra. From the algebra, we define two non-unitary and one unitary displacement type operators. While the action of one of the non-unitary type operators reproduces the original nonlinear coherent states, the other one fails to produce a new set of nonlinear coherent states (dual pair). We show that these dual states are not normalizable. For the nonlinear coherent states, we evaluate the parameter A3 and examine the non-classical nature of the states through quadratic and amplitude-squared squeezing effect. Further, we derive analytical formula for the P-function, Q-function, and the Wigner function for the nonlinear coherent states. All of them confirm the non-classicality of the nonlinear coherent states. In addition to the above, we obtain the harmonic oscillator type coherent states from the unitary displacement operator.

New nonlinear coherent states associated with inverse bosonic andf-deformed ladder operators

Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Using the nonlinear coherent states method , a formalism for the construction of the coherent states associated with ‘ inverse bosonic operators ’ and their dual family has been proposed. Generalizing the approach, the ‘inverse of f -deformed ladder operators’ corresponding to the nonlinear coherent states in the context of quantum optics and the associated coherent states have been introduced. Finally, after applying the proposal to a few known physical systems, particular nonclassical features as sub-Poissonian statistics and the squeezing of the quadratures of the radiation field corresponding to the introduced states have been investigated.

Nonlinear semi-coherent states, their nonclassical features and phase properties

E Piroozi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Semi-coherent states (semi-CSs) were previously introduced and their nonclassical properties studied. In this paper, we first propose a general formalism for the construction of ‘nonlinear semi-CSs’ as an extension of semi-CSs and then their explicit form in the number state basis is generally deduced. Next, as some physical appearances of the formalism, after choosing two well-known nonlinearity functions, nonclassical features and quantum statistical properties of the associated states are studied by evaluating quadrature squeezing, higher order squeezing and the Mandel parameter, as well as their phase properties and number and phase squeezing of the introduced states. Finally, the results are compared with the properties of semi-CSs.

Noncommutative q -photon-added coherent states

Sanjib Dey, Véronique Hussin

We construct the photon-added coherent states of a noncommutative harmonic oscillator associated to a $q$-deformed oscillator algebra. Various nonclassical properties of the corresponding system are explored, first, by studying two different types of higher-order quadrature squeezing, namely, the Hillery type and the Hong-Mandel type, and second, by testing the sub-Poissonian nature of photon statistics in higher order with the help of the correlation function and the Mandel parameter. Also, we compare the behavior of different types of quadrature and photon number squeezing of our system with those of the ordinary harmonic oscillator by considering the same set of parameters.

A new class off-deformed charge coherent states and their nonclassical properties

M Mortazavi, M K Tavassoly

Two-mode charge (pair) coherent states have been introduced previously by using the 〈η| representation. In this paper, we reobtain these states by a rather different method. Then, using the nonlinear coherent state approach and based on a simple manner by which the representation of two-mode charge coherent states is introduced, we generalize the bosonic creation and annihilation operators to the f -deformed ladder operators and construct a new class of f -deformed charge coherent states. Unlike the (linear) pair coherent states, our presented structure has the potential to generate a large class of pair coherent states with various nonclassicality signs and physical properties which are of interest. For this purpose, we use a few well-known nonlinearity functions associated with particular quantum systems as some physical appearances of our presented formalism. After introducing the explicit form of the above correlated states in the two-mode Fock space, several nonclassicality features of the corresponding states (as well as the two-mode linear charge coherent states) are numerically investigated by calculating quadrature squeezing, the Mandel parameter, the second-order correlation function, the second-order correlation function between the two modes and the Cauchy–Schwartz inequality. Also, the oscillatory behaviour of the photon count and the quasi-probability (Husimi) function of the associated states will be discussed. Nonclassical Properties of a Class of Nonlinear Pair Coherent State

H. H. Salah

In the present work a class of nonlinear pair coherent state introduced depending on the form of the nonlinearity function with examining some of its nonclassical properties. In particular, it is shown that such state exhibits nonclassical properties such as squeezing and sub-Poissonian behaviour. Also, the quasiprobability distribution functions (Wigner-function, Q-function) are discussed. Finally, the phase properties in Pegg-Barnett formalism is considered.
