Abstract

I present an interconversion currents algebra for an atom-molecule Bose-Einstein condensate model and use it to get the quantum dynamics of the currents. For different choices of the Hamiltonian parameters I get different currents dynamics.

Current algebra for the two-site Bose-Hubbard model

Gilberto N. Santos Filho

We present a current algebra for the two-site Bose-Hubbard model and use it to get the quantum dynamics of the currents. For different choices of the Hamiltonian parameters we get different currents dynamics. We generalize the Heisenberg equation of motion to write the second derivative of an operator.

I present a currents algebra for the two-sites Bose-Hubbard model, generalize the Heisenberg equation of motion to write the second time derivative of the currents operators and use it to get the quantum dynamics of the currents. For different choices of the Hamiltonian parameters I get different currents dynamics and determine the period of the oscillations in function of the parameters.

Fermi-type interaction in molecular and atomic Hamiltonians. Application to molecular systems and Bose-Einstein condensates.

We present a simple prescription to build phenomenological Hamiltonians describing Fermi-type interactions and apply the developed formalism to two distinct physical systems. First, in a very simple way, we derive equations describing time dynamics of two coherently coupled Bose-Einstein condensates. Further, for bent XY2 molecules, we reproduce all the experimental data with an excellent precision.

Miscibility Transition in a Binary Bose-Einstein Condensate Induced by Linear Interconversion

Ilya M. Merhasin, Boris A. Malomed, Rodislav Driben

We consider a model of a two-component condensate in one dimension, where the components represent two different spin states of the same atom. We demonstrate that linear interconversion between them, induced by a resonant electromagnetic wave, can make the immiscible binary condensate miscible. This transition is predicted by means of a variational approximation, and is then confirmed by direct numerical solutions of the symmetric and asymmetric models (the asymmetry is accounted for by a chemical-potentil difference between the components). The dependence of the corresponding order parameters on the linear-coupling strengths reveals a typical phase transition of the second kind. However, in dynamic states the species may remain separated, even if they would get mixed in a static configuration.
