Abstract

We propose a scheme for generating 3D entanglement between two atoms trapped in two spatially separated cavities, respectively, via shortcuts to adiabatic passage based on the approach of Lewis–Riesenfeld invariants in cavity quantum electronic dynamics. By combining Lewis–Riesenfeld invariants with quantum Zeno dynamics, we can generate 3D entanglement of the two atoms with high fidelity. The numerical simulation results show that the scheme is robust against the decoherence caused by the photon leakage and atomic spontaneous emission.

Fast generation of three-dimensional entanglement between two spatially separated atoms via invariant-based shortcut

A scheme is proposed for the fast generation of three-dimensional entanglement between two atoms trapped in two cavities connected by a fiber via invariant-based shortcut to an adiabatic passage. With the help of quantum Zeno dynamics, the invariant-based shortcut technique is applied to the generation of two-atom three-dimensional entanglement. The numerical simulation results show that the target state can be generated in a short time with high fidelity, and the scheme is robust against the decoherence caused by atomic spontaneous emission, photon leakage, and variations in the parameters. Moreover, it may be possible to implement the scheme with the current experimental technology.

Fast generations of tree-type three-dimensional entanglement via Lewis-Riesenfeld invariants and transitionless quantum driving

Jin‐Lei Wu, Xin Ji, Shou Zhang

Recently, a novel three-dimensional entangled state called tree-type entanglement, which is likely to have applications for improving quantum communication security, was prepared via adiabatic passage by Song et al. Here we propose two schemes for fast generating tree-type three-dimensional entanglement among three spatially separated atoms via shortcuts to adiabatic passage. With the help of quantum Zeno dynamics, two kinds of different but equivalent methods, Lewis-Riesenfeld invariants and transitionless quantum driving, are applied to construct shortcuts to adiabatic passage. The comparisons between the two methods are discussed. The strict numerical simulations show that the tree-type three-dimensional entangled states can be fast prepared with quite high fidelities and the two schemes are both robust against the variations in the parameters, atomic spontaneous emissions and the cavity-fiber photon leakages.

Adiabatic passage for three-dimensional entanglement generation through quantum Zeno dynamics

Yan Liang, Shi-Lei Su, Qi-Cheng Wu +2 more

We propose an adiabatic passage approach to generate two atoms three-dimensional entanglement with the help of quantum Zeno dynamics in a time-dependent interacting field. The atoms are trapped in two spatially separated cavities connected by a fiber, so that the individual addressing is needless. Because the scheme is based on the resonant interaction, the time required to generate entanglement is greatly shortened. Since the fields remain in vacuum state and all the atoms are in the ground states, the losses due to the excitation of photons and the spontaneous transition of atoms are suppressed efficiently compared with the dispersive protocols. Numerical simulation results show that the scheme is robust against the decoherences caused by the cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission. Additionally, the scheme can be generalized to generate N-atom three-dimensional entanglement and high-dimensional entanglement for two spatially separated atoms.

Fast generation of three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state based on the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariants in coupled cavities

In this paper, we propose an efficient scheme to fast generate three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state by constructing shortcuts to adiabatic passage (STAP) based on the "Lewis-Riesenfeld (LR) invariants" in spatially separated cavities connected by optical fibers. Numerical simulations illustrate that the scheme is not only fast, but robust against the decoherence caused by atomic spontaneous emission, cavity losses and the fiber photon leakages. This might be useful to realize fast and noise-resistant quantum information processing for multi-qubit systems.

Efficient shortcuts to adiabatic passage for three-dimensional entanglement generation via transitionless quantum driving

Shuang He, Shi‐Lei Su, Dongyang Wang +5 more

We propose an effective scheme of shortcuts to adiabaticity for generating a three-dimensional entanglement of two atoms trapped in a cavity using the transitionless quantum driving (TQD) approach. The key point of this approach is to construct an effective Hamiltonian that drives the dynamics of a system along instantaneous eigenstates of a reference Hamiltonian to reproduce the same final state as that of an adiabatic process within a much shorter time. In this paper, the shortcuts to adiabatic passage are constructed by introducing two auxiliary excited levels in each atom and applying extra cavity modes and classical fields to drive the relevant transitions. Thereby, the three-dimensional entanglement is obtained with a faster rate than that in the adiabatic passage. Moreover, the influences of atomic spontaneous emission and photon loss on the fidelity are discussed by numerical simulation. The results show that the speed of entanglement implementation is greatly improved by the use of adiabatic shortcuts and that this entanglement implementation is robust against decoherence. This will be beneficial to the preparation of high-dimensional entanglement in experiment and provides the necessary conditions for the application of high-dimensional entangled states in quantum information processing.

Achieving three-dimensional entanglement between two spatially separated atoms by using the quantum Zeno effect

Siping Liu, Jiahua Li, Rong Yu +1 more

Based on the quantum Zeno effect [B. Misra and E. C. G. Sudarshan, J. Math. Phys. 18, 756 (1977)], we propose a scheme to achieve three-dimensional (3D) entanglement between two distant five-level atoms. In our scheme, the two atoms are trapped individually in two spatially-separated double-mode cavities connected by an optical fiber. It is found that the effective quantum Zeno dynamics of the composite cavity-fiber-cavity coupled system gives rise to the deterministic creation of the 3D entangled state with high fidelity. Moreover, only one step operation is required to complete the generation of the 3D entangled state. The numerical simulations clearly show that the proposed scheme is robust against the deviation of the system parameters and insensitive to various decoherence factors, including atomic spontaneous emissions, cavity decays and fiber photon leakages. We justify our scheme by considering the experimental feasibility within the currently available technology.
