Abstract

By use of mainly the exact diagonalization and the level spectroscopy method, we investigate the ground-state phase diagrams of the S = 1/2 distorted diamond type quantum spin chain with the monomer-monomer interactions and/or ferromagnetic interactions for the zero magnetic field case, as well as the M = M s /3 case and the M = (2/3) M s case, where M is the total magnetization and M s is the saturation magnetization. The magnetization plateau at M = M s /3 vanishes in the region where the ferromagnetic interaction is rather strong. The monomer-monomer interaction remarkably stabilizes the magnetization plateau at M = (2/3) M s .

Ground-State Phase Diagram of theS= 1/2 Distorted Diamond Type Spin Chain with Ferromagnetic Interactions

We investigate, analytically and numerically, the ground state of the S = 1/2 distorted diamond type spin chain having three kinds of couplings, where one or two types of the couplings are ferromagnetic. We obtained the phase diagram at zero-magnetic field and also at Ms/3, where Ms is the saturation magnetization. We also discuss the plateau at (2/3)Ms.

Magnetization Plateau of the S = 1 2 Distorted Diamond Spin Chain with Ferromagnetic Interaction

Abstract The magnetization process of the S = 1/2 distorted diamond spin chain with ferromagnetic interactions is investigated using the numerical diagonalization of finite-size clusters. The level spectroscopy analysis applied for the model with the spin anisotropy indicates that two different magnetization plateau phases appear at 1/3 of the saturation magnetization. The phase diagrams for some typical interaction parameters are presented. In addition the magnetization curves for several typical parameters are obtained.

Magnetization plateau of the distorted diamond spin chain with anisotropic ferromagnetic interaction

Tôru Sakai, Kiyomi Okamoto, Hiroki Nakano +1 more

The S = 1/2 distorted diamond spin chain with the anisotropic ferromagnetic interaction is investigated using the numerical diagonalization and the level spectroscopy analysis. It is known that the system exhibits a plateau of the magnetization curve at the 1/3 of the saturation. The present study indicates that as the anisotropy is varied the quantum phase transition occurs between two different mechanisms of the 1/3 magnetization plateau. The phase diagram with respect to the anisotropy and the ferromagnetic coupling is also presented.

Magnetization Plateau of the Distorted Diamond Spin Chain

Yuki Ueno, Tomosuke Zenda, Yuta Tachibana +2 more

The frustrated quantum spin system on the distorted diamond chain lattice is investigated using the numerical diagonalization of finite-size clusters and the level spectroscopy analysis. In the previous work this system was revealed to exhibit the 1/3 magnetization plateau due to two different mechanisms depending on the coupling parameters, and the phase diagram at the 1/3 magnetization was obtained. In the present work it is found that the 1/3 magnetization plateau vanishes for sufficiently large $XY$-like coupling anisotropy. The phase diagram based on the level spectroscopy analysis is also presented.

Ground state of the mixed spin-(1,1/2) Ising–Heisenberg distorted diamond chain with ferromagnetic Ising and antiferromagnetic Heisenberg interactions

Bohdan Lisnyi

Ground state of the mixed spin-(1,1/2) Ising-Heisenberg distorted diamond chain in the presence of the external magnetic field is rigorously studied in the frustrated case of ferromagnetic Ising and antiferromagnetic XXZ Heisenberg interactions. The influence of quantum fluctuations, magnetic field, and the distortion of diamond cells on the ground state are examined in detail. It is established that the zero-temperature magnetization curve may show intermediate plateaus at zero and one-half of the saturation magnetization.
