Revolutionizing Agriculture Through Quantum Computing Technologies
Sudesh Kumar, Mamtha Prajapati, Bhawna Tunwal
Quantum Computing (QC) is a new way of computing that solves difficult problems quickly by leveraging quantum mechanics. Quantum technology could boost global advancement in several fields. One interesting use for it is in transforming agriculture. QC enables large-scale dataset analysis, complex process simulation, and faster, more precise resource use, which may enhance farming. This can boost crop yields, reduce waste, and improve environmental practices. This chapter discusses QC progress and how quantum technology could revolutionise precision agriculture in the next few decades. We provide a vision and scientific discoveries for the quantum age and investigate cutting-edge quantum computing applications in smart agriculture. Further, discuss software tools and platforms for quantum programming that can unlock the future of farming. Finally, we examine how QC transforms next-generation agricultural research and the merits of letting it do its thing.
