Quantum stochastic processes in two dimensional space-time

Abstract

Several stochastic processes with virtual particles in two dimensional space-time are presented whose mean field equations coincide with Schrödinger, Dirac, Klein-Gordon and the quantum mechanic equation for a photon. These processes could be used to detect discrete space-time features at the Planck scale.

How virtual particles generate quantum dynamics

de la Torre, Carlos Alberto

In support of the quantum field theory interpretation of quantum mechanics, stochastic processes with virtual particles whose mean field equations describe quantum dynamics are presented. Two type of virtual particles $A$ and $B$ with an asymmetric interaction such that $A$ rejects (hates) $B$ and $B$ attracts (loves) $A$ have a combined distribution that satisfies Schr\odinger equation. It is also shown how four virtual particles drifting, creating and destroying themselves have a combined distribution that satisfies Dirac equation. Finally, a non-markovian process that generates Klein-Gordon equation is given. However, markovian property is recovered if we postulate reversed causality.

Quantum Mechanics, Stochasticity and Space-Time

R Ramanathan

An extended and more rigorous version of a recent proposal for an objective stochastic formulation of quantum mechanics along with its extension to the relativistic case without spin is presented. The relativistic Klein-Gordon equation is shown to be a particular form of the relativistic Kolmogorov-Fokker-Planck equation which is derived from a covariant formulation of the Chapman-Kolmogorov condition. Complexification of probability amplitudes is again achieved only through a conformal rotation of Minkowski space-time M 4 .

Stochastic mechanics of a Dirac particle in two spacetime dimensions

Gian Fabrizio De Angelis, Giovanni Jona-Lasinio, Maurizio Serva +1 more

The authors develop the stochastic mechanics of a Dirac particle interacting with an arbitrary external electromagnetic field in two-dimensional Minkowski space. Their construction provides a consistent stochastic interpretation of solutions of the true (real time) Dirac equation and, in particular, gives a stochastic description of the zitterbewegung.

Fundamental Klein-Gordon Equation from Stochastic Mechanics in Curved Spacetime

Eric S. Escobar-Aguilar, Tonatiuh Matos, J. I. Jiménez-Aquino

Abstract This work presents an alternative approach to obtain the quantum field equations in curved spacetime, considering that sufficiently small particles follow stochastic trajectories around geodesic. Our proposal is based on a stochastic differential equation in which the noise term experienced by the quantum particles is a consequence of the stochastic background in spacetime. This fact allows the particles to describe erratic movements and locally the universe exhibits characteristics akin to a lake with gentle ripples rather than a flat unyielding surface. Building upon this foundational understanding, we investigate the influence of this background on quantum-scale particles without considering the metric to be stochastic, rather we let test particles move randomly around the geodesic of macroscopic particles. Their behavior aligns with solutions to the Klein-Gordon (KG) equation specific to this curved spacetime. As the KG equation, in its non-relativistic limit within a flat spacetime, reduces to the Schrödinger equation, consequently, we propose a compelling connection: the Schrödinger equation may emerge directly from a spacetime lacking local smoothness.
