Abstract

We consider the twisted Yangian quantum spin chain. In particular, we study the bulk and boundary scattering of the model via the solution of the Bethe ansatz equations in the thermodynamic limit. Local defects are also implemented in the model and the associated transmission amplitudes are derived through the relevant Bethe ansatz equations.

Scattering in Twisted Yangians

Jean Avan, Anastasia Doikou, Nikos Karaiskos

We study the bulk and boundary scattering of the sl( N ) twisted Yangian spin chain via the solution of the Bethe ansatz equations in the thermodynamic limit. Explicit expressions for the scattering amplitudes are obtained and the factorization of the bulk scattering is shown. The issue of defects in twisted Yangians is also briefly discussed.

Scattering matrices in the $\mathfrak{sl}({\mbox{\sffamily\bfseries 3}})$ twisted Yangian

Jean Avan, Anastasia Doikou, Nikos Karaiskos

A quantum spin chain with non-conventional boundary conditions is studied. The distinct nature of these boundary conditions arises from the conversion of a soliton to an anti-soliton after being reflected by the boundary, hence the appellation soliton non-preserving boundary conditions. We focus on the simplest non-trivial case of this class of models based on the twisted Yangian quadratic algebra. Our computations are performed through the Bethe ansatz equations in the thermodynamic limit. We formulate a suitable quantization condition describing the scattering process and proceed with explicitly determining the bulk and boundary scattering amplitudes. The energy and quantum numbers of the low lying excitations are also derived.

Bethe vectors and recurrence relations for twisted Yangian based models

Vidas Regelskis

We study Olshanski twisted Yangian based models, known as one-dimensional “soliton non-preserving” open spin chains, by means of algebraic Bethe Ansatz. The even case, when the bulk symmetry is \mathfrak{gl}_{2n} 𝔤 𝔩 2 n and the boundary symmetry is \mathfrak{sp}_{2n} 𝔰 𝔭 2 n or \mathfrak{so}_{2n} 𝔰 𝔬 2 n , was studied in [Ann. Henri Poincaré 20, 339 (2018)]. In the present work, we focus on the odd case, when the bulk symmetry is \mathfrak{gl}_{2n+1} 𝔤 𝔩 2 n + 1 and the boundary symmetry is \mathfrak{so}_{2n+1} 𝔰 𝔬 2 n + 1 . We explicitly construct Bethe vectors and present a more symmetric form of the trace formula. We use the composite model approach and Y(\mathfrak{gl}_n) Y ( 𝔤 𝔩 n ) -type recurrence relations to obtain recurrence relations for twisted Yangian based Bethe vectors, for both even and odd cases.

Completeness of the Bethe Ansatz solution of the open XXZ chain with nondiagonal boundary terms

Rafael I. Nepomechie, Francesco Ravanini

A Bethe Ansatz solution of the open spin- XXZ quantum spin chain with nondiagonal boundary terms has recently been proposed. Using a numerical procedure developed by McCoy et al , we find significant evidence that this solution can yield the complete set of eigenvalues for generic values of the bulk and boundary parameters satisfying one linear relation. Moreover, our results suggest that this solution is practical for investigating the ground state of this model in the thermodynamic limit.

Integrable structure of BCD conformal field theory and boundary Bethe ansatz for affine Yangian

Alexey Litvinov, Ilya Vilkoviskiy

A bstract In these notes we study integrable structures of conformal field theory with BCD symmetry. We realise these integrable structures as $$ \mathfrak{gl} $$ gl (1) affine Yangian “spin chains” with boundaries. We provide three solutions of Sklyanin KRKR equation compatible with the affine Yangian R -matrix and derive Bethe ansatz equations for the spectrum. Our analysis provides a unified approach to the integrable structures with BCD symmetry including superalgebras.

Q-operators, Yangian invariance and the quantum inverse scattering method

Rouven Frassek

Inspired by the integrable structures appearing in weakly coupled planar N=4 super Yang-Mills theory, we study Q-operators and Yangian invariants of rational integrable spin chains. We review the quantum inverse scattering method along with the Yang-Baxter equation which is the key relation in this systematic approach to study integrable models. Our main interest concerns rational integrable spin chains and lattice models. We recall the relation among them and how they can be solved using Bethe ansatz methods incorporating so-called Q-functions. In order to remind the reader how the Yangian emerges in this context, an overview of its so-called RTT-realization is provided. The main part is based on the author's original publications. Firstly, we construct Q-operators whose eigenvalues yield the Q-functions for rational homogeneous spin chains. The Q-operators are introduced as traces over certain monodromies of R-operators. Our construction allows us to derive the hierarchy of commuting Q-operators and the functional relations among them. We study how the nearest-neighbor Hamiltonian and in principle also higher local charges can be extracted from the Q-operators directly. Secondly, we formulate the Yangian invariance condition, also studied in relation to scattering amplitudes of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory, in the RTT-realization. We find that Yangian invariants can be interpreted as special eigenvectors of certain inhomogeneous spin chains. This allows us to apply the algebraic Bethe ansatz and derive the corresponding Bethe equations that are relevant to construct the invariants. We examine the connection between the Yangian invariant spin chain eigenstates whose components can be understood as partition functions of certain 2d lattice models and tree-level scattering amplitudes of the four-dimensional gauge theory. Finally, we conclude and discuss some future directions.
