Exact analysis of quantum filter for systems driven by two counter-propagating single-photon states

Zhiyuan Dong, Guofeng Zhang, Nina H. Amini

In this paper, quantum filtering for a two-level atom, which is illuminated by two counter-propagating single-photon pulses, has been considered. The scenario is equivalent to that the two-level atom is driven by two input light field channels, each of which contains a single-photon. Based on two homodyne detection measurements, filtering equations in the Schrödinger picture have been derived explicitly.

Behaviour of two‐level quantum system driven by non‐classical inputs

Abolghasem Daeichian, Farid Sheikholeslam

Two‐level quantum system (Qubit) and non‐classical states of light such as single photon and superposition of coherent state are under special attention in quantum technologies such as quantum computing, quantum communication and quantum computers. Hence, behaviour of two‐level system driven by such inputs is important. In this study, the behaviour of two‐level quantum system driven by vacuum state, single photon and superposition of coherent state was investigated by assuming Pauli matrices as system operators in quantum filtering equations. The purity of conditioned and unconditioned states is also analysed when the system is driven by different inputs. The results show that the stochastic master equation (ME)dynamic has more information about the status of system than ME dynamic.

Atomic excitation for a two-level system driven by three input photons

Zhiyuan Dong, Guofeng Zhang, Ai‐Guo Wu

In this paper, the master equations for a two-level system driven by three photons has been derived. Particularly, the incident photons are distributed in two input channels, namely, the first input channel contains a two-photon state, while another single-photon state is in the second input channel. The excitation probabilities of the two-level system are simulated with different bandwidths of input photons. The influence of the number of input photons and channels on the atomic excitation is concluded.
