Abstract

In this study, we obtained the position-momentum uncertainties and some uncertainty relations for the Pöschl-Teller-type potential for any $\ell$. The radial expectation values of $r^{-2}$, $r^{2}$ and $p^{2}$ are obtained from which the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle holds for the potential model under consideration. The Fisher information is then obtained and it is observed that the Fisher-information-based uncertainty relation and the Cramer-Rao inequality hold for this even power potential. Some numerical and graphical results are displayed.

Information-theoretic measures for Morse and Pöschl–Teller potentials

J. S. Dehesa, Andrei Martı́nez-Finkelshtein, Vladimir Nikolaevich Sorokin

The spreading of the quantum-mechanical probability cloud for the ground state of the Morse and modified Pöschl–Teller potentials, which controls the chemical and physical properties of some molecular systems, is studied in position and momentum space by means of global (Shannon's information entropy, variance) and local (Fisher's information) information-theoretic measures. We establish a general relation between variance and Fisher's information, proving that, in the case of a real-valued and symmetric wavefunction, the well-known Cramer–Rao and Heisenberg uncertainty inequalities are equivalent. Finally, we discuss the asymptotics of all three information measures, showing that the ground state of these potentials saturates all the uncertainty relations in an appropriate limit of the parameter.

Entropic uncertainty relations and the fisher information for the Generalized radial Yukawa potential

Cecilia N. Isonguyo, K. J. Oyewumi, Opeyemi S. Oyun +1 more

The Heisenberg uncertainty relation as well as the Fisher information are presented analytically and numerically for the Generalized radial Yukawa potential. The probability density for the ground and first excited state has been analyzed via the Fisher information for this potential model. Some numerical results are obtained. From the numerical results obtained, we observed that, for n = 0, 1, the position-space Fisher information Ir increases with increasing potential parameter a, while the momentum-space Fisher information Iρ initially increases, and later decreases with increasing potential parameter a. The Fisher-information-based uncertainty relation and the Heisenberg uncertainty relation have been verified to hold for this atomic model. In addition, we observed a squeezed phenomenon in some of the results in position r and momentum ρ for the ground and first excited states.

Quantum information entropies of the eigenstates for the Pöschl—Teller-like potential

Guo-Hua Sun, Manuél Ávila, Shi‐Hai Dong

Shannon entropy for lower position and momentum eigenstates of Pöschl—Teller-like potential is evaluated. Based on the entropy densities demonstrated graphically, we note that the wave through of the position information entropy density ρ( x ) moves right when the potential parameter V 1 increases and its amplitude decreases. However, its wave through moves left with the increase in the potential parameter | V 2 |. Concerning the momentum information entropy density ρ( p ), we observe that its amplitude increases with increasing potential parameter V 1 , but its amplitude decreases with increasing | V 2 |. The Bialynicki—Birula—Mycielski (BBM) inequality has also been tested for a number of states. Moreover, there exist eigenstates that exhibit squeezing in the momentum information entropy. Finally, we note that position information entropy increases with V 1 , but decreases with | V 2 |. However, the variation of momentum information entropy is contrary to that of the position information entropy.

Quantum-information entropies of the eigenstates and the coherent state of the Pöschl-Teller potential

Rajneesh Atre, Anil Kumar, Nagaraja Kumar +1 more

The position and momentum space information entropies, of the ground state of the P\"oschl-Teller potential, are exactly evaluated and are found to satisfy the bound obtained by Beckner, Bialynicki-Birula, and Mycielski. These entropies for the first excited state, for different strengths of the potential well, are then numerically obtained. Interesting features of the entropy densities, owing their origin to the excited nature of the wave functions, are graphically demonstrated. We then compute the position space entropies of the coherent state of the P\"oschl-Teller potential, which is known to show revival and fractional revival. Time evolution of the coherent state reveals many interesting patterns in the space-time flow of information entropy.

Fisher information and Shannon entropy under the cotangent hyperbolic potential model

B. B. Deji-Jinadu, C. A. Onate, O. O. Ajani

A Schrödinger equation is solved for a cotangent hyperbolic potential using the elegant parametric Nikiforov–Uvarov method. The results obtained are used to calculate the Fisher information for position space and momentum space as well as the Shannon entropy for position space and momentum space at the ground state. The energies of the cotangent potential are observed to be fully bounded for different quantum states. The Fisher information satisfied the Fisher relation known as Cramer–Rao inequality for the Fisher product. Its result also obeyed the Heisenberg principle as its alternative for uncertainty measurement. However, the Shannon entropy only satisfied the Bialynick-Birula, Mycielski inequality for higher values of the screening parameter. Its relation to the Heisenberg principle failed as both the position space and the momentum space are parallel with high entropy squeezing. This potential has not been reported for any system to the best of our understanding.

Quantum information-entropic measures for exponential-type potential

A. N. Ikot, Gaotsiwe Joel Rampho, P. O. Amadi +3 more

The approximate solutions of the Schrödinger equation with the central generalized Hulthén and Yukawa potential are investigated within the framework of the functional method. The obtained wave function and the energy levels are used to study the Shannon entropy, Renyi entropy, Fisher information, Shannon Fisher complexity, Shannon power and Fisher-Shannon product in both position and momentum spaces for the ground and first excited states. The theoretic information theories such as Shannon entropies Sr,Sp, Fisher information Ip,Ip and Renyi entropies Rβ as well as the information entropy probability densities ρ(r),ϕ(p) are illustrated graphically. The Bialynicki-Birula – Mycielski (BBM) inequality for the Shannon entropies and the Cramer-Rao inequality for the Fisher information are satisfied for the potential model.

Quantum Information Entropies for the ℓ\ellℓ-state Pöschl-Teller-type potential
In this study, we obtained the position-momentum uncertainties and some uncertainty relations for the Pöschl-Teller-type potential for any ℓ\ellℓ.
