Abstract

We study geometric quantum phases corresponding to analogues of the Anandan quantum phase (Anandan 1989 Phys. Lett. A 138 347) based on a possible scenario of the Lorentz-symmetry violation background in a tensor background. We also show that quantum holonomies associated with the analogue of the Anandan quantum phase can be determined, and discuss a way of performing one-qubit quantum gates by analogy with the holonomic quantum computation (Zanardi and Rasetti 1999 Phys. Lett. A 264 94).

Relativistic geometric quantum phases from the Lorentz symmetry violation effects in the CPT-even gauge sector of Standard Model Extension

K. Bakke, H. Belich

We discuss the appearance of geometric quantum phases for a Dirac neutral particle in the context of relativistic quantum mechanics based on possible scenarios of the Lorentz symmetry violation tensor background in the CPT-even gauge sector of Standard Model Extension. We assume that the Lorentz symmetry breaking is determined by a tensor background given by [Formula: see text], then, relativistic analogues of the Anandan quantum phase [J. Anandan, Phys. Lett. A 138, 347 (1989)] are obtained based on the parity-even and parity-odd sectors of the tensor [Formula: see text].

Scalar Aharonov‐Bohm‐type effect induced by Lorentz symmetry breaking effects

A. G. de Lima, H. Belich, K. Bakke

A possible scenario of the Lorentz symmetry violation is discussed based on the arising of geometric quantum phases yielded by the effects of the Lorentz symmetry violation in the CPT‐even gauge sector of Standard Model Extension. Analogues of the Anandan quantum phase and the scalar Aharonov‐Bohm effect for a neutral particle [J. Anandan, Phys. Lett. A 138, 347 (1989)] are obtained from the parity‐odd sector of the tensor . Moreover, we build quantum holonomies associated with the analogue of the Anandan quantum phase and discuss a possible analogy with the geometric quantum computation [A. Ekert et al., J. Mod. Opt. 47, 2501 (2000)]. image

Relativistic Anandan quantum phase in the Lorentz violation background

Abstract We study the influence of a classical background based on the violation of the Lorentz symmetry on the relativistic Anandan quantum phase. We show that the choice of the Lorentz symmetry violation background provides an abelian contribution for the relativistic Anandan quantum phase.

He–McKellar–Wilkens-type effect, quantum holonomies and Aharonov–Bohm-type effect for bound states from the Lorentz symmetry breaking effects

A. G. de Lima, H. Belich, K. Bakke

From the effects of the Lorentz symmetry violation in the CPT-even gauge sector of the Standard Model Extension determined by a tensor background [Formula: see text], we establish a possible scenario where an analogue of the He–McKellar–Wilkens effect can stem from. Besides, we build quantum holonomies associated with the analogue of the He–McKellar–Wilkens effect and discuss a possible analogy with the geometric quantum computation. Finally, we investigate the dependence of the energy levels on the He–McKellar–Wilkens geometric phase induced by Lorentz symmetry breaking effects when the particle is confined to a hard-wall confining potential.

Mathematical Foundations of Holonomic Quantum Computer

This is a sequel to the papers (quant-ph/9910063) and (quant-ph/0004102). The aim of this paper is to give mathematical foundations to Holonomic Quantum Computation (Computer) proposed by Zanardi and Rasetti (quant-ph/9904011) and Pachos and Chountasis (quant-ph/9912093). In 2-qubit case we give an explicit form to non-abelian Berry connection of quantum computational bundle which is associated with Holonomic Quantum Computation, on some parameter space. We also suggest a possibility that not only usual holonomy but also higherdimensional holonomies must be used to prove a universality of our Holonomic
