Abstract

We investigate properties of generalized time-dependent $q$-deformed coherent states for a noncommutative harmonic oscillator. The states are shown to satisfy a generalized version of Heisenberg's uncertainty relations. For the initial value in time the states are demonstrated to be squeezed, i.e., the inequalities are saturated, whereas when time evolves the uncertainty product oscillates away from this value albeit still respecting the relations. For the canonical variables on a noncommutative space we verify explicitly that Ehrenfest's theorem holds at all times. We conjecture that the model exhibits revival times to infinite order. Explicit sample computations for the fractional revival times and superrevival times are presented.

Time-dependent q-deformed bi-coherent states for generalized uncertainty relations

Laure Gouba

We consider the time-dependent bi-coherent states that are essentially the Gazeau-Klauder coherent states for the two dimensional noncommutative harmonic oscillator. Starting from some q-deformations of the oscillator algebra for which the entire deformed Fock space can be constructed explicitly, we define the q-deformed bi-coherent states. We verify the generalized Heisenberg’s uncertainty relations projected onto these states. For the initial value in time, the states are shown to satisfy a generalized version of Heisenberg’s uncertainty relations. For the initial value in time and for the parameter of noncommutativity θ = 0, the inequalities are saturated for the simultaneous measurement of the position-momentum observables. When the time evolves, the uncertainty products are different from their values at the initial time and do not always respect the generalized uncertainty relations.

Solvable Models on Noncommutative Spaces with Minimal Length Uncertainty Relations

Sanjib Dey

Our main focus is to explore different models in noncommutative spaces in higher dimensions. We provide a procedure to relate a three dimensional q-deformed oscillator algebra to the corresponding algebra satisfied by canonical variables describing non-commutative spaces. The representations for the corresponding operators obey algebras whose uncertainty relations lead to minimal length, areas and volumes in phase space, which are in principle natural candidates of many different approaches of quantum gravity. We study some explicit models on these types of noncommutative spaces, first by utilising the perturbation theory, later in an exact manner. In many cases the operators are not Hermitian, therefore we use PT -symmetry and pseudo-Hermiticity property, wherever applicable, to make them self-consistent. Apart from building mathematical models, we focus on the physical implications of noncommutative theories too. We construct Klauder coherent states for the perturbative and nonperturbative noncommutative harmonic oscillator associated with uncertainty relations implying minimal lengths. In both cases, the uncertainty relations for the constructed states are shown to be saturated and thus imply to the squeezed coherent states. They are also shown to satisfy the Ehrenfest theorem dictating the classical like nature of the coherent wavepacket. The quality of those states are further underpinned by the fractional revival structure. More investigations into the comparison are carried out by a qualitative comparison between the dynamics of the classical particle and that of the coherent states based on numerical techniques. The qualitative behaviour is found to be governed by the Mandel parameter determining the regime in which the wavefunctions evolve as soliton like structures.

Nonlinear time evolution of coherent states with observation of super revivals in a generalized isotonic oscillator

V. Chithiika Ruby, Paulsamy Muruganandam, Murugaian Senthilvelan

In this paper, we investigate revival and super revivals of nonlinear coherent states while generating these states through the interaction of coherent states of a generalized isotonic oscillator with the nonlinear media during time evolution. We construct the f-deformed generalized isotonic oscillator which is a non-isochronous partner of the generalized isotonic oscillator. We connect these two nonlinear oscillators through deformed ladder operators. The generalized isotonic oscillator possesses linear energy spectrum whereas f-deformed generalized isotonic oscillator exhibits nonlinear energy spectrum. The presence of the cubic nonlinearity in the f-deformed oscillator motivates us to study revivals, super and fractional revivals of coherent states which are nonlinearly evolved. We also investigate time-dependent expectation values of uncertainties in certain canonically conjugate variables and demonstrate that at revival and super revival times the uncertainty relation attains its minimum value.

Squeezed coherent states for noncommutative spaces with minimal length uncertainty relations

Sanjib Dey, Andreas Fring

We provide an explicit construction for Gazeau-Klauder coherent states related to non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with discrete bounded below and nondegenerate eigenspectrum. The underlying spacetime structure is taken to be of a noncommutative type with associated uncertainty relations implying minimal lengths. The uncertainty relations for the constructed states are shown to be saturated in a Hermitian as well as a non-Hermitian setting for a perturbed harmonic oscillator. The computed value of the Mandel parameter dictates that the coherent wave packets are assembled according to sub-Poissonian statistics. Fractional revival times, indicating the superposition of classical-like sub-wave packets, are clearly identified.

Coherent states and their time dependence in fractional dimensions

Alagu Thilagam, Max A. Lohe

We construct representations of the Lie algebra using representations of the momentum and position operators satisfying the R -deformed Heisenberg relations, in which the fractional dimension d and angular momentum ℓ appear as parameters. The Bargmann index κ, which characterizes representations of the positive discrete series of , can take any positive value. We construct coherent states in fractional dimensions, in particular we extend the two well-known analytic representations of coherent states for , Perelomov and Barut–Girardello states, from dimension one to any dimension d . We generalize this construction to time-dependent coherent states by means of the symmetries of the quantum time-dependent harmonic oscillator in fractional dimensions. We investigate the uncertainty relations of the momentum and position operators with respect to these coherent states, and their dependence on the dimension.

Time-dependent transitions with time–space noncommutativity and its implications in quantum optics

Nitin Chandra

We study the time-dependent transitions of a quantum-forced harmonic oscillator in noncommutative perturbatively to linear order in the noncommutativity θ. We show that the Poisson distribution gets modified, and that the vacuum state evolves into a 'squeezed' state rather than a coherent state. The time evolutions of uncertainties in position and momentum in vacuum are also studied and imply interesting consequences for modeling nonlinear phenomena in quantum optics.
