Scattering of a spinless particle by an asymmetric Hulthén potential within the effective mass formalism

Abstract

Effective mass Klein-Gordon equation for the asymmetric Hulthén potential is solved in terms of hypergeometric functions. Results are obtained for the scattering and bound states with the position dependent mass and constant mass, as a special case. In both cases, we derive a condition for the existence of transmission resonance (T = 1). We also study how the transmission resonance depends on the particle energy and the shape of the external potential.

The Klein–Gordon equation in the presence of a spatially one-dimensional Hulthén potential is solved exactly and the scattering solutions are obtained in terms of hypergeometric functions. The transmission coefficient is derived by the matching conditions on the wave functions and the conditions for the existence of transmission resonances are investigated. Scattering of vector bosons by an asymmetric Hulthen potential

Exact solutions for the bound and scattering states of the spatially one-dimensional Duffin–Kemmer–Petiau equation for an asymmetric Hulthen potential are obtained in terms of the hypergeometric functions. These solutions are used to derive conditions for the existence of the transmission resonances. From this investigation, we show how the transmission coefficient depends on the energy of the particle and the strength of the potential barrier.

Transmission resonance for a Klein-Gordon particle in one-dimensional Hulthén potential barrier

The Klein-Gordon equation in the presence of a spatially one-dimensional Hulthén potential barrier is solved and the scattering state solutions are obtained in terms of the hypergeometric functions. Both the reflection coefficient and transmission coefficient are calculated from the boundary condition of Klein-Gordon equation and the conditions for transmission resonance are then derived.The result shows that when the reflection coefficient is zero the transmission resonance takes place.

Abstract We have solved exactly the two-component Dirac equation in the presence of a spatially one-dimensional Hulthén potential, and presented the Dirac spinors of scattering states in terms of hypergeometric functions. We have derived the reflection and transmission coefficients using the matching condition on the wavefunctions, and investigated the condition for the existence of transmission resonance. Furthermore, we have demonstrated how the transmission resonance depends on the shape of the potential.

Dirac Particle for the Position Dependent Mass in the Generalized Asymmetric Woods-Saxon Potential

The one-dimensional Dirac equation with position dependent mass in the generalized asymmetric Woods-Saxon potential is solved in terms of the hypergeometric functions. The transmission and reflection coefficients are obtained by considering the one-dimensional electric current density for the Dirac particle and the equation describing the bound states is found by utilizing the continuity conditions of the obtained wave function. Also, by using the generalized asymmetric Woods-Saxon potential solutions, the scattering states are found out without making calculation for the Woods-Saxon, Hulthen, cusp potentials, and so forth, which are derived from the generalized asymmetric Woods-Saxon potential and the conditions describing transmission resonances and supercriticality are achieved. At the same time, the data obtained in this work are compared with the results achieved in earlier studies and are observed to be consistent.
