Abstract

We analytically prove the necessary and sufficient criterion for the full separability of three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) diagonal states. The corresponding entanglement is exactly calculable for some GHZ diagonal states and is tractable for the others using the relative entropy of entanglement. We show that the biseparable criterion and the genuine entanglement are determined only by the biggest GHZ diagonal element regardless of all the other smaller diagonal elements. We have completely solved the entanglement problems of three-qubit GHZ diagonal states.

Separability of three qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger diagonal states

Kyung Hoon Han, Seung-Hyeok Kye

Abstract We characterize the separability of three qubit GHZ diagonal states in terms of entries. This enables us to check separability of GHZ diagonal states without decomposition into the sum of pure product states. In the course of discussion, we show that the necessary criterion of Gühne (2011 Entanglement criteria and full separability of multi-qubit quantum states Phys. Lett. A 375 406–10 ) for (full) separability of three qubit GHZ diagonal states is sufficient with a simpler formula. The main tool is to use entanglement witnesses which are tri-partite Choi matrices of positive bi-linear maps.

Precise detection of multipartite entanglement in four-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger diagonal states

Xiao-Yu Chen, Li-Zhen Jiang, Zhu-An Xu

We propose a method of constructing the separability criteria for multipartite quantum states on the basis of entanglement witnesses. The entanglement witnesses are obtained by finding the maximal expectation values of Hermitian operators and then optimizing over all possible Hermitian operators. We derive a set of tripartite separability criteria for the four-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) diagonal states. The derived criterion set contains four criteria that are necessary and sufficient for the tripartite separability of the highly symmetric four-qubit GHZ diagonal states; the criteria completely account for the numerically obtained boundaries of the tripartite separable state set. One of the criteria is just the tripartite separability criterion of the four-qubit generalized Werner states.

Polytope structures for Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger diagonal states *

Kyung Hoon Han, Seung-Hyeok Kye

Abstract We explore the polytope structures for genuine entanglement, biseparability, full biseparability and Bell inequality of multi-qubit GHZ diagonal states. We first show that biseparable GHZ diagonal states make hypersimplices inside the simplices consisting of all GHZ diagonal states. Next, we consider full biseparability which is equivalent to positive partial transpose for GHZ diagonal states, and show that they make the convex hulls of simplices and cubes. We also visualize which part of the simplex violates multipartite Bell inequality. Finally, we compute precise volumes for genuine entanglement, biseparability, full biseparability and states violating Bell inequality among all GHZ diagonal states.

Necessary and sufficient criterion for k-separability of N-qubit noisy GHZ states

Xiaoyu Chen, Li-zhen Jiang, Zhu‐An Xu

A Multipartite entangled state has many different kinds of entanglements specified by the number of partitions. The most essential example of multipartite entanglement is the entanglement of multi-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state in white noise. We explicitly construct the entanglement witnesses for these states with stabilizer generators of the GHZ states. For an [Formula: see text] qubit GHZ state in white noise, we demonstrate the necessary and sufficient criterion of separability when it is divided into [Formula: see text] parties with [Formula: see text] for arbitrary [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. The criterion covers more than a half of all kinds of partial entanglements for [Formula: see text]-qubit GHZ states in white noise. For the rest of multipartite entanglement problems, we present a method to obtain the sufficient conditions of separability. As an application, we consider [Formula: see text] qubit GHZ state as a codeword of the degenerate quantum code passing through depolarizing channel. We find that the output state is neither genuinely entangled nor fully separable when the quantum channel capacity reduces from positive to zero.

Locality of three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-symmetric states

Dian Zhu, Gang-Gang He, Fulin Zhang

The hierarchy of nonlocality and entanglement in multipartite systems is one of the fundamental problems in quantum physics. We study this topic in three-qubit systems considering the entanglement classification of stochastic local operations and classical communication (SLOCC). The equivalence under SLOCC divides three-qubit states into separable, biseparable, $W$, and Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) classes. The $W$ and GHZ are two subclasses of genuine tripartite entanglement. We adopt the family of GHZ-symmetric states as a research subject, which share the symmetries of the GHZ state and have a complete characterization of SLOCC classes. In the biseparable region (with bipartite entanglement), there exist GHZ-symmetric states that are found to be fully local. In addition, there are bilocal states in both the $W$ and GHZ classes. That is, neither of the subclasses of genuine tripartite entanglement can ensure genuinely tripartite nonlocality.

Genuine entanglement of four-qubit cluster diagonal states

Xiaoyu Chen, Ping Yu, Li-zhen Jiang +1 more

We reduce the necessary and sufficient biseparable conditions of four-qubit cluster diagonal states to concise forms. Only 4 out of the 15 parameters are proved to be relevant in specifying the genuine entanglement of the states. Using the relative entropy of entanglement as entanglement measure, we analytically find the genuine entanglement of all the four-qubit cluster diagonal states. The formulas for the genuine entanglement are of five kinds, for seven different parameter regions of genuinely entangled states.
