Abstract

We present explicit unitary transformations for realizing both symmetric and asymmetric one-to-many economical phase-covariant clonings of qudits. We also propose a corresponding telecloning scheme. It is shown that the fidelity of the telecloning with nonmaximally entangled states can be larger than that of the corresponding cloning. This implies that partially entangled states can be better than the maximally entangled states for our economical phase-covariant telecloning scheme.

Probabilistic ancilla-free phase-covariant telecloning of qudits with the optimal fidelity

Xin-Wen Wang, Guojian Yang

We study the ancilla-free $1\ensuremath{\rightarrow}2$ phase-covariant telecloning for qudits. We show that the fidelity of the two clones can probabilistically reach that of the clones in the optimal $1\ensuremath{\rightarrow}2$ phase-covariant cloning (involving an ancilla). More interestingly, that can realize the above nonlocal cloning tasks are suitable nonmaximally entangled states rather than the maximally entangled states.

Implementing 1 →Meconomical phase-covariant cloning and telecloning in cavity QED

Fanyu Meng, Ai‐Dong Zhu, Kyu-Hwang Yeon +1 more

We propose a scheme to implement 1 → M economical phase-covariant quantum cloning by using N three-level atoms nonresonantly interacting with a cavity assisted by a classical laser field. Using this interaction 1 → M telecloning is also implemented by applying the maximal entangled W state and partial entangled W state as the quantum channel, respectively. It is pointed out by analysing the fidelities and success probabilities that a relatively high fidelity and success probability can be obtained by choosing an appropriate channel in terms of the pre-known information of the input state.

Telecloning of qudits via partially entangled states

G. Araneda, Nataly Cisternas, Aldo Delgado

We study the process of quantum telecloning of d -dimensional pure quantum states using partially entangled pure states as quantum channel. This process efficiently mixes optimal universal symmetric cloning with quantum teleportation. It is shown that it is possible to implement universal symmetric telecloning in a probabilistic way using unambiguous state discrimination and quantum state separation schemes. It is also shown that other strategies, such as minimum error discrimination, lead to a decrease in the fidelity of the copies and that certain partially entangled pure states with maximal Schmidt rank lead to an average telecloning fidelity which is always above the optimal fidelity of measuring and preparation of quantum states. We also discuss the case of partially entangled pure states with non-maximal Schmidt rank. The results presented here are valid for arbitrary numbers of copies of a single-input qudit state of any dimension.

Hybrid economical telecloning of equatorial qubits and generation of multipartite entanglement

Xin-Wen Wang, Guojian Yang

We propose a simple scheme for hybrid economical telecloning (HETC) of equatorial qubits with the well-known W-type entangled states. The so-called HETC is a synthesis of several types of quantum cloning and quantum teleportation, in which economical symmetric and asymmetric clonings and anticlonings can be simultaneously achieved by teleportation. We use the global fidelity and average-single-qubit fidelity to estimate, respectively, the collective copying quality and show that the two criteria lead to different results. We obtain interesting equalities and inequalities about the fidelities of clones or anticlones. We also introduce controlled HETC of equatorial qubits with recently proposed Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ)--W-type entangled states [L. Chen and Y. X. Chen, Phys. Rev. A 74, 062310 (2006)], in which the achievement of phase-covariant telecloning between the sender (Alice) and the receivers (Bobs) is conditioned on the collaboration of all the supervisors (Charlies). This idea may open a perspective for the applications of such interesting type of entangled states. A method for generating the GHZ--W-type entangled states is also presented.

Scheme for implementing 1 → 2 symmetric economical phase-covariant telecloning of bipartite entangled state based on quantum logic network

Fanyu Meng, Ai‐Dong Zhu

A scheme for implementing 1 → 2 symmetric economical phase-covariant telecloning of a bipartite entangled state is proposed based on a quantum logic network. The quantum circuits for preparing the telecloning channel and for teleporting the input state are presented, respectively. There is no ancilla needed for preparing the channel, and the fidelity of telecloning is enhanced. Due to only single- and two-qubit operations being used in the whole process, it can be easily implemented in experiment.
