General scalar products in the arbitrary six-vertex model

Abstract

In this work we use the algebraic Bethe ansatz to derive the general scalar product in the asymmetric six-vertex model for generic Boltzmann weights. We performed this calculation using only the unitarity property, the Yang–Baxter algebra and the Yang–Baxter equation. We have derived a recurrence relation for the scalar product. The solution of this relation was written in terms of the domain wall partition functions. In turn, these partition functions were also obtained for generic Boltzmann weights, which provided us with an explicit expression for the general scalar product.

Functional relations for the six-vertex model with domain wall boundary conditions

W. Galléas

In this work we demonstrate that the Yang–Baxter algebra can also be employed in order to derive a functional relation for the partition function of the six-vertex model with domain wall boundary conditions. The homogeneous limit is studied for small lattices and the properties determining the partition function are also discussed.

An introduction to the algebraic Bethe ansatz

James Plunkett, Omar E. Foda

The algebraic Bethe ansatz is one of the main approaches to solving integrable models in statistical mechanics. This thesis is a detailed introduction to aspects of this technique. In chapter 1, following Takhtajan1, we fully explain all preliminaries that are required by this technique in the context of the 8-vertex model, including the solution of the Yang-Baxter equations in terms of Boltzmann weights that are parameterized by elliptic function. In chapter 2, also following Takhtajan, we restrict our attention to the special case of the 6-vertex model, with Boltzmann weights parameterized by hyperbolic trigonometric functions, formulate the model in detail on a finite lattice with periodic boundary conditions, and show how the algebraic Bethe ansatz can be used to characterize the eigenvectors and eigenvalues, in the homogeneous case (all vertical rapidities are equal, and all horizontal rapidities are also equal). In chapter 3, following Bogoliubov et al2, we consider the 6-vertex model in inhomogeneous case (all rapidities are now independenti variables) but with domain wall boundary conditions. Using the algebraic Bethe ansatz, and Izergin’s result for the partition function, we calculate boundary 1-point functions of the six-vertex model on a finite lattice and represent them in determinant form. 2 VARIATIONS ON SLAVNOV’S SCALAR PRODUCT

Omar E. Foda, M Wheeler

A bstract We consider the rational six-vertex model on an L × L lattice with domain wall boundary conditions and restrict N parallel-line rapidities, N ≤ L/ 2, to satisfy length- L XXX $ \mathrm{spin}-\frac{1}{2} $ chain Bethe equations. We show that the partition function is an ( L − 2 N )- parameter extension of Slavnov’s scalar product of a Bethe eigenstate and a generic state, with N magnons each, on a length- L XXX $ \mathrm{spin}-\frac{1}{2} $ chain. Decoupling the extra parameters, we obtain a third determinant expression for the scalar product, where the first is due to Slavnov [1], and the second is due to Kostov and Matsuo [2]. We show that the new determinant is Casoratian, and consequently that tree-level $ \mathcal{N}=4 $ SYM structure constants that are known to be determinants, remain determinants at 1-loop level.

Scalar Products of the Asymmetric XXZ Chain

Yasuhiro Fujii, Miki Wadati

The asymmetric XXZ chain is studied in the framework of the algebraic Bethe ansatz. The model is one of the Heisenberg XXZ spin chains with Dzyaloshinsky–Moriya interactions and is mapped onto the asymmetric six-vertex model. We calculate the scalar products that constitute various correlation functions of the model, by the Korepin's method. They are expressed in terms of determinants of the dual quantum fields.

Le modèle d'Izergin-Korepin

Alexandr Garbali

Among the models of interacting classical statistical mechanics the Yang–Baxter (YB) integrable systems play a special role. The central model in the theory of yb integrable systems is the six vertex model. many powerful techniques were developed to study the six vertex model. The model under consideration is the Izergin-Korepin (IK) nineteen vertex model, which can be viewed as a generalization of the six vertex model. Our aim is to understand the physics of the ik model using the extensions of the methods which were applied to the six vertex model. We review the algebraic bethe ansatz for the IK model based on the nineteen-vertex R-matrix and propose a new presentation for the eigenstate of the relevant transfer matrix. We also address the question of the calculation of the scalar products of the IK model. an important object in the theory of scalar products is the domain wall boundary partition function. for this partition function defined for the IK model we derive a recurrence relation and solve it in a special case. We move on to the representation theory of the underlying quantum group (U_q(A^{(2)}_{2})), for which we compute all higher dimensional irreducible representations which are relevant for the IK model (Kirillov-Reshetikhin (KR) modules). The latter is accomplished in the so-called drinfeld presentation of quantum groups. This presentation has technical advantages for computations of the R-matrices by means of the Khoroshkin-Tolstoy (KT) formula. We use this to compute the R-matrix in a tensor product of the fundamental representation and a generic higher dimensional kr module. On the other hand, the Drinfeld presentation makes apparent the connection between the borel subalgebras of the quantum group U_q(A^{(2)}_{2}) and the Q-deformed oscillator algebras (oscq). The latter algebras are closely related to the representation theoretic definition of special transfer matrices: the Q-operators; these operators are central in the theory of functional relations of integrable models. we use the oscq type algebras in the KT formula to compute some L-matrices which are used to build the Q-operators. finally, we consider a special case of the ground state of the IK model when the deformation parameter Q is equal to a root of unity. In this case we compute explicitly the ground state eigenvalues of various transfer matrices including the Q-operator. we use the latter result to compute the components of the ground state of the IK model for small systems.
