Abstract

We discuss entanglement evolution of a multiqubit system in which one of its qubits is subjected to a general noisy channel. For such a system, an evolution equation of entanglement for a lower bound for multiqubit concurrence is derived. Using this evolution equation, the entanglement dynamics of an initially mixed three-qubit state composed of a Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) and a $W$ state is analyzed if one of the qubits is affected by a phase, an amplitude, or a generalized amplitude damping channel.

Equation of motion for multiqubit entanglement in multiple independent noisy channels

Zhong‐Xiao Man, Yun‐Jie Xia, Shao-Ming Fei

We investigate the possibility and conditions to factorize the entanglement evolution of a multiqubit system passing through multi-sided noisy channels. By means of a lower bound of concurrence (LBC) as entanglement measure, we derive an explicit formula of LBC evolution of the N-qubit generalized Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GGHZ) state under some typical noisy channels, based on which two kinds of factorizing conditions for the LBC evolution are presented. In this case, the time-dependent LBC can be determined by a product of initial LBC of the system and the LBC evolution of a maximally entangled GGHZ state under the same multi-sided noisy channels. We analyze the realistic situations where these two kinds of factorizing conditions can be satisfied. In addition, we also discuss the dependence of entanglement robustness on the number of the qubits and that of the noisy channels.

Entanglement dynamics of three-qubit states in local many-sided noisy channels

Michael Siomau

We study entanglement dynamics of pure three-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger-type entangled states when one, two or three qubits are subjected to general local noise. Employing a lower bound for three-qubit concurrence as an entanglement measure, we show that for some many-sided noisy channels the entanglement dynamics can be completely described by the evolution of the entangled states in single-sided channels.

Evolution equation of entanglement for bipartite systems

Zong-Guo Li, Shao-Ming Fei, Z. D. Wang +1 more

We explore how entanglement of a bipartite system evolves when one subsystem undergoes the action of an arbitrary noisy channel. It is found that the dynamics of entanglement of such system is determined by the channel's action on the maximally entangled state, which includes as a special case the results for two-qubit systems [Konrad et al., Nat. Phys. 4, 99 (2008)]. In particular, for multiqubit or qubit-qudit systems, we get a general factorization law for the evolution equation of entanglement, with one qubit being subject to a noisy channel.

Dynamics of three-qubit systems in a noisy environment

NASSER METWALLY, A. Almannaei

Some properties of three-qubit systems interacting with a noisy environment are discussed. The amount of the survival entanglement is quantified for the Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) and W states. It is shown that the entanglement decay depends on the noise type (correlated or non-correlated), the number of interacting qubits with the environment, and the initial state that passes through this noisy environment. In general, the GHZ state is more fragile than the W state. The phenomenon of entanglement sudden death appears in the GHZ state only for non-correlated noise.

Analytical method of multiqubit entanglement robustness in correlated quantum channels

Zhen-Yu Peng, Feng-Lin Wu, Jun Li +3 more

In practice, the interaction between quantum system and environment will lead to the decoherence of entanglement. By quantifying the entanglement through the correlation tensor, we systematically investigate the entanglement robustness of two-qubit states under the four types of noisy channels and corresponding correlated channels. We use an analytical method to find all of the most robust and fragile states under the noisy channels. The puzzling phenomenon that the most robust and fragile states have the same entanglement under noisy channels has been investigated. Moreover, we compare the entanglement robustness of a three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state with a $W$ state. Our method shows the behavior of entanglement under the noisy channels and characterizes the entanglement robustness of the multiqubit system analytically.

Entanglement Dynamics of Arbitrary Two-Qubit Pure States under Amplitude and Phase Damping Channels

Feng-Jian Jiang, Ming-Jun Shi, Jiangfeng Du

Analytic results are presented for the entanglement evolution for arbitrary two-qubit pure state under amplitude damping and particularly phase damping channel. The disentanglement time and the relationship between it and the form of initial state are given explicitly. The lower bounds of disentanglement time are obtained and shown to be the monotone functions of initial concurrence.
