Abstract

We construct nonlinear coherent states or f -deformed coherent states for a nonpolynomial nonlinear oscillator which can be considered as placed in the middle between the harmonic oscillator and the isotonic oscillator (Cariñena et al 2008 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 41 085301 ). The deformed annihilation and creation operators which are required to construct the nonlinear coherent states in the number basis are obtained from the solution of the Schrödinger equation. Using these operators, we construct generalized intelligent states, nonlinear coherent states, Gazeau–Klauder coherent states and the even and odd nonlinear coherent states for this newly solvable system. We also report certain nonclassical properties exhibited by these nonlinear coherent states. In addition to the above, we consider the position-dependent mass Schrödinger equation associated with this solvable nonlinear oscillator and construct nonlinear coherent states, Gazeau–Klauder coherent states and the even and odd nonlinear coherent states for it. We also give explicit expressions of all these nonlinear coherent states by considering a mass profile which is often used for studying transport properties in semiconductors.

Generalized Intelligent States for Nonlinear Oscillators

A. H. El Kinani, Mohammed Daoud A

The construction of Generalized Intelligent States (GIS) for the $x^4$% -anharmonic oscillator is presented. These GIS families are required to minimize the Robertson-Schr\\"odinger uncertainty relation. As a particular case, we will get the so-called Gazeau-Klauder coherent states. The properties of the latters are discussed in detail. Analytical representation is also considered and its advantage is shown in obtaining the GIS in an analytical way. Further extensions are finally proposed.

Completeness and Nonclassicality of Coherent States for Generalized Oscillator Algebras

Kevin Zelaya, Oscar Rosas-Ortiz, Zurika Blanco-Garcia +1 more

The purposes of this work are (1) to show that the appropriate generalizations of the oscillator algebra permit the construction of a wide set of nonlinear coherent states in unified form and (2) to clarify the likely contradiction between the nonclassical properties of such nonlinear coherent states and the possibility of finding a classical analog for them since they are P -represented by a delta function. In (1) we prove that a class of nonlinear coherent states can be constructed to satisfy a closure relation that is expressed uniquely in terms of the Meijer G -function. This property automatically defines the delta distribution as the P -representation of such states. Then, in principle, there must be a classical analog for them. Among other examples, we construct a family of nonlinear coherent states for a representation of the su(1,1) Lie algebra that is realized as a deformation of the oscillator algebra. In (2) , we use a beam splitter to show that the nonlinear coherent states exhibit properties like antibunching that prohibit a classical description for them. We also show that these states lack second-order coherence. That is, although the P -representation of the nonlinear coherent states is a delta function, they are not full coherent. Therefore, the systems associated with the generalized oscillator algebras cannot be considered “classical” in the context of the quantum theory of optical coherence.

Coherent states for nonlinear harmonic oscillator and some of its properties

Naila Amir, Shahid Iqbal

A one-dimensional nonlinear harmonic oscillator is studied in the context of generalized coherent states. We develop a perturbative framework to compute the eigenvalues and eigenstates for the quantum nonlinear oscillator and construct the generalized coherent states based on Gazeau-Klauder formalism. We analyze their statistical properties by means of Mandel parameter and second order correlation function. Our analysis reveals that the constructed coherent states exhibit super-Poissonian statistics. Moreover, it is shown that the coherent states mimic the phenomena of quantum revivals and fractional revivals during their time evolution. The validity of our results has been discussed in terms of various parametric bounds imposed by our computational scheme.

Gazeau–Klauder cat states

Jerzy Dajka, J. Łuczka

Generalization of single-mode Schrödinger cat states is proposed, and their construction in terms of superposition of Gazeau–Klauder coherent states is presented. A comparative analysis of selected properties of this novel states for a nonlinear Kerr oscillator and the ‘traditional’ Schrödinger cats is given with emphasis on the photon statistics and the properties of non-cyclic geometric phase. ON A GENERAL FORMALISM OF NONLINEAR CHARGE COHERENT STATES, THEIR QUANTUM STATISTICS AND NONCLASSICAL PROPERTIES

F. EFTEKHARI, M. K. TAVASSOLY

In this paper, we will present a general formalism for constructing the nonlinear charge coherent states which in special case lead to the standard charge coherent states. The su Q(1, 1) algebra as a nonlinear deformed algebra realization of the introduced states is established. In addition, the corresponding even and odd nonlinear charge coherent states have also been introduced. The formalism has the potentiality to be applied to systems either with known "nonlinearity function" f(n) or solvable quantum system with known "discrete nondegenerate spectrum" en. As some physical appearances, a few known physical systems in the two mentioned categories have been considered. Finally, since the construction of nonclassical states is a central topic of quantum optics, nonclassical features and quantum statistical properties of the introduced states have been investigated by evaluating single- and two-mode squeezing, su (1, 1)-squeezing, Mandel parameter and antibunching effect (via g-correlation function) as well as some of their generalized forms we have introduced in the present paper.

Investigating and analysis of the properties of coherent states of a deformed nonlinear harmonic oscillator

Daeimohammad, Mohsen, Nili Ahmadabadi, Mohammad

In this research, we study the coherent states of a deformed nonlinear harmonic oscillator. We use the perturbation theory to compute eigenstates and eigen-values for a deformed nonlinear harmonic oscillator and then define the generalized coherent states based on the Gazeau-Klauder formulation. Then, using the Mandel parameter and the second-order correlation function, we will investigate the statistical properties of the system. The analysis shows that the coherent states for a deformed and non-deformed nonlinear harmonic oscillator follows the sub-Poissonian and super-Poissonian statistics, and exhibits the antibunching and bunching effects, respectively. In addition, we show that the anti-correlation function for a deformed nonlinear oscillator is strongly fluctuating and irregular. Also, the anti-correlation function of a non-deformed nonlinear harmonic oscillator shows the phenomena of collapse and revival of fractional revelations. We also examine the limits of different parameters so that the obtained results are valid.
