Abstract

We study the conditions for obtaining maximally multipartite-entangled states (MMESs) as nondegenerate eigenstates of Hamiltonians that involve only short-range interactions. We investigate small-size systems (with a number of qubits ranging from $3$ to $5$) and show some example Hamiltonians with MMESs as eigenstates.

Multipartite entanglement and few-body Hamiltonians

Francesco Vincenzo Pepe

We investigate the possibility to obtain higly multipartite-entangled states as non-degenerate eigenstates of Hamiltonians that involve only short-range and few-body interactions. We study small-size systems (with a number of qubits ranging from three to five) and search for Hamiltonians with a maximally multipartite entangled state (MMES) as a non-degenerate eigenstate. We then find conditions, including bounds on the number of coupled qubits, to build a Hamiltonian with a Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state as a non-degenerate eigenstate. We finally comment on possible applications.

Exploring maximally multipartite entanglement of even n qubits with N-tangle

Xin-Wei Zha, Jianxia Qi, Yunguang Zhang

A necessary condition of the maximally multipartite entangled states (MMES) is given via n-tangle. The condition shows that the n-tangle equal zero for the four-, and eight-qubit of MMESs and the n-tangle equal 1 for two- and six- qubits of MMESs. Furthermore,we give the theoretical limitation for maximally ten-qubit and twelve-qubit entangled states. We conjecture that 4n-qubit states of MMES should have n-tangle equal zero and 4n+2-qubit states of MMES should have n-tangle equal one.

Maximally multipartite entangled states

Paolo Facchi A, Giuseppe Florio, Giorgio Parisi A +1 more

We introduce the notion of maximally multipartite entangled states of $n$ qubits as a generalization of the bipartite case. These pure states have a bipartite entanglement that does not depend on the bipartition and is maximal for all possible bipartitions. They are solutions of a minimization problem. Examples for small $n$ are investigated, both analytically and numerically.

Multipartite entanglement in qubit systems

Paolo Facchi

We introduce a potential of multipartite entanglement for a system of n qubits, as the average over all balanced bipartitions of a bipartite entanglement measure, the purity. We study in detail its expression and look for its minimizers, the maximally multipartite entangled states. They have a bipartite entanglement that does not depend on the bipartition and is maximal for all possible bipartitions. We investigate their structure and consider several examples for small n.

Bipartite entanglement of decohered mixed states generated from maximally entangled cluster states

Mostafa Mansour, Saeed Haddadi

In this work, we investigate the bipartite entanglement of decohered mixed states generated from maximally entangled cluster states of [Formula: see text] qubits physical system. We introduce the disconnected cluster states for an ensemble of [Formula: see text] non-interacting qubits and we give the corresponding separable density matrices. The maximally entangled states can be generated from disconnected cluster states, by assuming that the dynamics of the multi-qubit system is governed by a quadratic Hamiltonian of Ising type. When exposed to a local noisy interaction with the environment, the multi-qubit system evolves from its initial pure maximally entangled state to a decohered mixed state. The decohered mixed states generated from bipartite, tripartite and multipartite maximally entangled cluster states are explicitly expressed and their bipartite entanglements are investigated.
