Complete complementarity relations for quantum correlations in neutrino oscillations with CP violation

Massimo Blasone A, Silvio De Siena, Cristina Matrella

We characterize quantum correlations encoded in a three-flavor oscillating neutrino system by taking into account CP violation. By means of the complete complementarity relations (CCR), we study the trade-off of predictability, local coherence and nonlocal correlations by using relevant parameters given by neutrino oscillation experiments. Although the CCR describe very well the contributions associated to bipartite correlations, we explore the possible presence of genuine tripartite correlations, by exploiting polygamy relations. We also provide some observations about the nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence, a mazy quantum correlation characterizing the most valuable, nonlocal, portion of quantum coherence in a multi-partite system.

Complete complementarity relations in curved spacetimes

Marcos L. W. Basso, Jonas Maziero

We extend complete complementarity relations to curved spacetimes by considering a succession of infinitesimal local Lorentz transformations, which implies that complementarity remains valid as the quanton travels through its world line and the complementarity aspects in different points of spacetime are connected. This result allows the study of these different complementary aspects of a quantum system as it travels through spacetime. In particular, we investigate the behavior of these different complementary properties of massive spin-$1/2$ particles in the Schwarzschild spacetime. For geodetic circular orbits, we find that the spin state of one particle oscillates between a separable and an entangled state. For nongeodetic circular orbits, we notice that the frequency of these oscillations gets bigger as the orbit nears the Schwarzschild radius ${r}_{s}$.

Complete complementarity relations for quantum correlations in neutrino oscillations

Abstract We analyze quantum correlations and quantum coherence in neutrino oscillations. To this end, we exploit complete complementarity relations (CCR) that fully characterize the interplay between different correlations encoded in a quantum system both for pure and mixed states. We consider the CCR for neutrino oscillations both in the case of plane-waves (pure state) and of wave packets (mixed state). In this last case we find a complex structure of correlations depending on the mixing angle, and we show the connection with the non local advantage of quantum coherence, a relevant quantifier of coherence.
