Abstract

We propose an entanglement swapping of atomic states confined by cavities QED using a photonic Faraday rotation. Two schemes are considered in which we use three and four cavities, respectively, plus an additional circularly-polarized photon. After interacting with an atom trapped inside the cavity the system evolves to an entangled atom-photon state. The entanglement swapping is then achieved by a Bell-state measurement upon the entire atom-photon state.

Scheme for Generation of Maximally Entangled States via Entanglement Swapping

Wu, Zhenzhen, Fang +3 more

Based on two atoms and two cavities initially in two pairs of atom-photon nonmaximally entangled states, we propose a relatively simple scheme to create maximally entangled photon-photon and atom-photon states via entanglement swapping using techniques of cavity QED inspired by the scheme proposed in [Phys. Rev. A 71 (2005)044302] and [Phys. Rev. A 71 (2005) 034312]. Our scheme does not involve the measurement in Bell basis, we only require detecting the states of atoms.

Preparing a four-atom cluster state via photonic faraday rotations

HE Shuan

We propose a scheme for preparing a four-atom cluster state via photonic Faraday rotations in loss optical cavities connected by optical fibers. In this scheme, four three-level atoms are trapped inside coupled cavities, and the information is encoded in the low energy level, therefore our scheme is insensitive to both cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission,so that the entanglement is more stable.

Scheme for Quantum Entanglement Swapping on Cavity QED System

Changyong Chen, Yan Yu

We propose a scheme for realizing quantum entanglement swapping between the atoms in cavity QED. With only virtual excitation of the cavity during the interaction between the atoms and cavity, the scheme is insensitive to the cavity mode states and the cavity decay. The ideas can also be utilized for realizing entanglement swapping between the atomic levels in a single atom and the atomic levels in the Bell states and between the atomic levels in the Bell states and the atomic levels in the W states.

Atomic and photonic entanglement concentration via photonic Faraday rotation

Zhao-Hui Peng, Jian Zou, Xiaojuan Liu +2 more

We propose two alternative entanglement concentration protocols (ECPs) using the Faraday rotation of photonic polarization. Through the single-photon input-output process in cavity QED, it is shown that the maximally entangled atomic (photonic) state can be extracted from two partially entangled states. The distinct feature of our protocols is that we can concentrate both atomic and photonic entangled states via photonic Faraday rotation, and thus they may be universal and useful for entanglement concentration in the experiment. Furthermore, as photonic Faraday rotation works in low-$Q$ cavities and only involves virtual excitation of atoms, our ECPs are insensitive to both cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission.

Atomic entanglement concentration via photonic Faraday rotation in cavity QED

Xiao‐Ming Xiu, Zilin Zhao, Xin-Ying Wang +4 more

By utilizing Faraday rotation of photons, we present a highly efficient protocol for entanglement concentration of atomic Bell states, which departs from the conventional method of sequential interactions between the auxiliary photon and two optical cavities. Instead, the simultaneous interaction of the auxiliary photon with two atomic cavities is involved in order to significantly reduce the time requirement for achieving atomic Bell state entanglement concentration. By employing iterative applications of the protocol for entanglement concentration, the discarded states can be repeatedly concentrated, efficiently increasing the probability of success. Furthermore, our entanglement concentration protocols (ECPs) operate in low-Q cavities, which are easier to implement in practical applications than high-Q cavities. Finally, it can be generalized to an N -atom GHZ states entanglement concentration protocol.
