Abstract

The Hubbard model is used to study an electronic system. In this paper we present the new path integral representation for Hubbard model. We have constructed the new supercoherent state which appears from a set of eigenfunctions of atomic limit of strongly correlated systems. Exact calculation of nonlinear representation of a supergroup has been carried. This group defines the transformation of atomic base. The general formalism we elaborate for Hubbard model is the one widely used in the gauge field theory of the nonlinear representation of a superconformal group.

Semiclassical representation of the Hubbard model

Yuki Yamasaki, Hidemaro Suwa, Cristian D. Batista +1 more

By revisiting the path-integral formulation of the Hubbard model, we propose a theoretical approach based on a semiclassical approximation employing an unconventional coherent-state representation. Within this framework, a subset of the dynamical variables is treated as static, yielding a nonperturbative scheme that is applicable at finite temperature, incorporates intersite correlations, and can be naturally extended to multiorbital systems. We assess the validity of the approximation by comparing its results with exact solutions for one- and two-site systems, focusing in particular on the particle number, double occupancy, hopping amplitude, and spin correlations, and find that the present approach qualitatively reproduces the exact behavior. Quantitatively, deviations arise, which is associated with the continuum (non-discretized) character of the underlying density of states. Furthermore, we derive the exact transformation associated with the coherent-state construction, thereby providing additional insight into the representation of the Hubbard model.

Path integrals and supercoherent states

Масуд Чайчиан, Demosthenes Ellinas, Peter Prešnajder

For the real supergroup Osp(1‖2;R), with both its compact and noncompact versions, supercoherent states are introduced with a method close to the one by Perelomov for the even subgroups SU(2) or SU(1,1). These states labeled by a complex c number and Grassmann variable minimize the uncertainty of the quadratic Casimir operator of the group. A path integral formalism is developed for the transition amplitude between supercoherent states for a Hamiltonian linear in the generators of the superalgebra, which leads to a super-Riccati equation. Finally, in the classical limit the canonical equations of motion are derived which involve a generalized super Poisson bracket.

Path Integral Methods for Single Band Hubbard Model

N. Heydari, S. Azakov

We review various ways to express the partition function of the single-band Hubard model as a path integral. The emphasis is made on the derivation of the action in the integrand of the path integral and the results obtained from this approach are discussed only briefly. Since the single-band Hubbard model is a pure fermionic model on the lattice and its Hamiltonian is a polynomial in creation and annihilation fermionic operators, with the help of the fermionic coherent states of holomorphic representions the partition function of the model can be straightforwardly expressed as a path integral with respect to Grassmann fields. Then the question arises how to calculate this path integral specially in the most interesting case of the strong coupling, which is described by the term quartic in the fermion fields. The standard way to get rid of this quartic term is to use so-called Hubbard-Stratonovich transformation by introducing auxilary boson field (this procedure is usually called bosonization). Since there are several equivalent forms of the interaction term in the single-band Hubbard model the bosonization procedure is not unique. In the first section of the article we discuss two types of bosoniztions one with two real scalar fields (charge and spin fields) and another with a real vector field. The second section is devoted to a spin-rotation-invariant bosonization procedure invented by Schulz and Weng, Ting and Lee, where an arbitary quantization axis is introduced at each point in space and time and an integration over all possible orientations enters the path integral measure. Spin rotation invariant formulation is necessary to study e.g. spiral magnetization. In the third section we present the contstruction of a path integral for the partition function when the single-band Hubbard Hamiltonian is written in terms of the Hubbard operators, which are elements of the doubly graded semi-simple algebra. In this case one should use generalized coherent states for superalgebra in order to get a path integral formulation. We follow the procedure proposed recently by T ngler and Kopp, to investigate the case of strong coupling.

Path integral formalism for Osp(1/2, R) coherent states

H. A. Schmitt, A. Mufti

A path integral formulation in the representation of coherent states for the non-compact supergroup Osp(1/2, R) is introduced. An expression for the transition amplitude connecting two Osp(1/2, R) coherent states is constructed, and the corresponding canonical equations of motion derived. A set of generalized Poisson brackets is introduced and interpreted.
