Abstract

We investigate an experimentally feasible intracavity coupled down-conversion scheme to generate quadripartite entanglement using concurrent nonlinearities. We verify that quadripartite entanglement is present in this system by calculating the output fluctuation spectra and then considering violations of optimized inequalities of the van Loock--Furusawa type. The entanglement characteristics both above and below the oscillation threshold are considered. We also present analytic solutions for the quadrature operators and the van Loock--Furusawa correlations in the undepleted pump approximation.

Scheme to generate continuous-variable quadripartite entanglement by intracavity down-conversion cascaded with double sum-frequency generations

H. Y. Leng, Jianfeng Wang, Youbin Yu +5 more

We theoretically show that continuous-variable genuine quadripartite entanglement can be generated by intracavity cascaded nonlinear optical interactions. The process consists of a parametric down-conversion, a sum-frequency generation of pump and signal and a sum-frequency generation of pump and idler. The characteristics of the quadripartite entanglement among the signal, the idler, and two sum-frequency modes are analyzed by applying a sufficient inseparability criterion for multipartite continuous-variable entanglement proposed by Van Loock and Furusawa. The threshold properties of the system are also discussed.

Analysis of a continuous-variable quadripartite cluster state from a single optical parametric oscillator

S. L. W. Midgley, M. K. Olsen, Ashton S. Bradley +1 more

We examine the feasibility of generating continuous-variable multipartite entanglement in an intracavity concurrent downconversion scheme that has been proposed for the generation of cluster states by Menicucci et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 101, 130501 (2008)]. By calculating optimized versions of the van Loock-Furusawa correlations we demonstrate genuine quadripartite entanglement and investigate the degree of entanglement present. Above the oscillation threshold the basic cluster state geometry under consideration suffers from phase diffusion. We alleviate this problem by incorporating a small injected signal into our analysis. Finally, we investigate squeezed joint operators. While the squeezed joint operators approach zero in the undepleted regime, we find that this is not the case when we consider the full interaction Hamiltonian and the presence of a cavity. In fact, we find that the decay of these operators is minimal in a cavity, and even depletion alone inhibits cluster state formation.

Bright quadripartite entanglement from competing χ(2) nonlinearities

Hua-Tang Tan, He Huang

In this Brief Report, we investigate the generation of bright quadripartite entanglement of continuous variables in an experimentally realizable system involving second-order harmonic generation with competing nondegenerate optical parametric downconversion. By using the well-known van Loock--Furusawa criterion for continuous variable correlations, we find that the genuine quadripartite entanglement can be generated in the system over a wide range of controllable parameters. Besides this, it is shown that the bipartite entanglement between any two field modes can be achievable. In addition, the dependence of the quantum correlations on the pump parameter is also discussed.

Generation of continuous-variable tripartite entanglement using cascaded nonlinearities

It is theoretically shown that tripartite entanglement with different wavelengths can be generated by cascaded nonlinear interaction in an optical parametric oscillator cavity with parametric down conversion and sum-frequency generation. A sufficient inseparability criterion for continuous-variable tripartite entanglement proposed by van Loock and Furusawa was used to evaluate the degree of the quadrature-phase amplitude correlations between the three modes. The dependences of correlation on the cavity parameters and pump intensity are discussed.

Implementation of bright six-partite entanglement by coupled intracavity sum frequency generation

Junfeng Wang, Le Liu, Yuzhu Liu +6 more

Abstract Bright six-partite continuous-variable (CV) entanglement generated by the coupled intracavity sum frequency generation is investigated. The entanglement characteristics of reflected pump fields and the output sum frequency fields are discussed theoretically in symmetric and asymmetric cases by applying van Loock and Furusawa criteria for multipartite CV entanglement. Such compact tunable multipartite CV entanglement, generated from an experimentally feasible coupled system, could be used in integrated quantum communication and networks.

Bright quadripartite continuous variable entanglement from coupled intracavity nonlinearities

Juan Guo, Zehui Zhai, Jiangrui Gao

The continuous variable quadripartite entanglement properties of the output fields by the coupled intracavity parametric downconversions processes are analyzed theoretically. In the above-threshold region, it shows that the four output lights are multicolored entangled beams in separable locations with four-mode amplitude quadratures correlation and relative phase quadratures correlation.
