Abstract

We compute the correlation functions of the three-state superintegrable chiral Potts spin chain for chains of length 3, 4, 5. From these results we present conjectures for the form of the nearest-neighbor correlation function.

A symmetry formula for correlation functions in the superintegrable chiral Potts spin chain

Haoran Zhu

We prove an exact finite-volume symmetry formula for two-point functions in the periodic $N$-state superintegrable chiral Potts spin chain. We show that, for every chain length $L$ and every simultaneous eigenvector of the Hamiltonian and the one-site translation operator, the correlations satisfy $\langle Z_0^r Z_R^{\dagger r}\rangle^*=\langle Z_0^r Z_{L-R}^{\dagger r}\rangle$ for $1\leqslant r\leqslant N-1$. Hence, whenever $L$ is even, the midpoint correlation $\langle Z_0^r Z_{L/2}^{\dagger r}\rangle$ is real. Then we generalise the three-state chain case to arbitrary $N$ and to every translation eigensector. This resolves a conjecture of Fabricius and McCoy.

Eigenvalue Spectrum of the Superintegrable Chiral Potts Model

Giuseppe Albertini, Barry M. McCoy, Jacques H. H. Perk

<!-- *** Custom HTML *** --> We compute the eigenvalues of the 3-state superintegrable chiral Potts model and of the associated spin chain by use of a functional equation. We find that the system has four phases, two of which are massless and two of which are massive.

Low-temperature expansions and correlation functions of the Z3-chiral Potts model

N S Han, A. Honecker

Using perturbative methods we derive new results for the spectrum and correlation functions of the general Z 3 -chiral Potts quantum chain in the massive low-temperature phase. Explicit calculations of the ground-state energy and the first excitations in the zero momentum sector give excellent approximations and confirm the general statement that the spectrum in the low-temperature phase of general Z n -spin quantum chains is identical to one in the high-temperature phase where the role of charge and boundary conditions are interchanged. Using a perturbative expansion of the ground state for the Z 3 model we are able to gain some insight into correlation functions. We argue that they might be oscillating and give estimates for the oscillation length as well as the correlation length.

Next-nearest-neighbor spin-spin and chiral-spin correlation functions in a generalized XXX chain

V. V. Mkhitaryan, A. Sedrakyan

We develop a simple technique for calculation of next-to-nearest-neighbor spin-spin and chiral-spin correlation functions in an inhomogeneous $XXX$ model. Exact expression of the chiral-spin order parameter as a function of the model parameter, $\ensuremath{\omega}$, is analytically found. Using the same method we also calculate the next-to-nearest-neighbor spin-spin correlation function. In the limit $\ensuremath{\omega}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}0$ it reproduces the known result for the vacuum expectation value of the next-to-nearest-neighbor spins in the standard Heisenberg spin chain. The technique is simple and can be extended for calculation of next-to-next-to-nearest-neighbor correlation functions as well as for calculation of correlation functions in the $XXZ$ model.

Next Nearest-Neighbor Correlation Functions of the Spin-1/2XXZChain at Massive Region

Minoru Takahashi, Go Kato, Masahiro Shiroishi

The second neighbor correlation functions of the spin-${1/2}$ $XXZ$ chain in the ground state are expressed in the form of three dimensional integrals. We show that these integrals can be reduced to one-dimensional ones and thereby evaluate the values of the next nearest-neighbor correlation functions for ${Δ>1}$.

Quasi-particles in the chiral Potts model

Kedem, R, Barry, M L

We study the quasi-particle spectrum of the integrable three-state chiral Potts chain in the massive phase by combining a numerical study of the zeroes of associated transfer matrix eigenvalues with the exact results of the ferromagnetic three-state Potts chain and the three-state superintegrable chiral Potts model. We find that the spectrum is described in terms of quasi-particles with momenta restricted only to segments of the Brillouin zone 0\\leq P \\leq 2\\pi where the boundaries of the segments depend on the chiral angles of the model.

We prove an exact finite-volume symmetry formula for two-point functions in the periodic NNN-state superintegrable chiral Potts spin chain. We show that, for every chain length LLL and every simultaneous eigenvector of the Hamiltonian and the one-site translation operator, the correlations satisfy ⟨Z0rZR†r⟩∗=⟨Z0rZL−R†r⟩\langle Z_0^r Z_R^{\dagger r}\rangle^*=\langle Z_0^r Z_{L-R}^{\dagger r}\rangle⟨Z0rZR†r⟩∗=⟨Z0rZL−R†r⟩ for 1⩽r⩽N−11\leqslant r\leqslant N-11⩽r⩽N−1. Hence, whenever LLL is even, the midpoint correlation ⟨Z0rZL/2†r⟩\langle Z_0^r Z_{L/2}^{\dagger r}\rangle⟨Z0rZL/2†r⟩ is real. Then we generalise the three-state chain case to arbitrary NNN and to every translation eigensector. This resolves a conjecture of Fabricius and McCoy.
