B\"acklund Transformations for the trigonometric Gaudin magnet: first results

arXivHTMLPDF

Abstract

A terse derivation of elementary Backlund Transformations (BTs) for the trigonometric Gaudin magnet is presented. It is shown how the so-called spectrality property (introduced by Sklyanin and Kuznetsov) enables to write BTs an an explicit map between old and new dynamical variables.

Bäcklund transformations for thesl(2) Gaudin magnet

Andrew N. W. Hone, V B Kuznetsov, O. Ragnisco

Elementary, one- and two-point, Bäcklund transformations are constructed for the generic case of the sl (2) Gaudin magnet. The spectrality property is used to construct these explicitly given, Poisson integrable maps which are time discretizations of the continuous flows with any Hamiltonian from the spectral curve of the 2 × 2 Lax matrix.

Derivation of the trigonometric Gaudin Hamiltonians

N. Manojlović, Zoltán Nagy, Igor Salom

Following Sklyanin’s proposal in the rational case, we derive the generating function of the Gaudin Hamiltonians in the trigonometric case. Our derivation is based on the quasi-classical expansion of the linear combination of the transfer matrix of the inhomogeneous XXZ Heisenberg spin chain and the central element, the so-called Sklyanin determinant. The corresponding Gaudin Hamiltonians are obtained as the residues of the generating function. PACS: 02.20.Tw, 03.65.Fd, 05.50+q, 75.10.Jm; MSC 2010: 81R12, 82B23.

Algebraic Bethe ansatz for the trigonometric sl(2) Gaudin model with triangular boundary

N. Manojlović, Igor Salom

In the derivation of the generating function of the Gaudin Hamiltonians with boundary terms, we follow the same approach used previously in the rational case, which in turn was based on Sklyanin's method in the periodic case. Our derivation is centered on the quasi-classical expansion of the linear combination of the transfer matrix of the XXZ Heisenberg spin chain and the central element, the so-called Sklyanin determinant. The corresponding Gaudin Hamiltonians with boundary terms are obtained as the residues of the generating function. By defining the appropriate Bethe vectors which yield strikingly simple off-shell action of the generating function, we fully implement the algebraic Bethe ansatz, obtaining the spectrum of the generating function and the corresponding Bethe equations.

On Bäcklund transformations for many-body systems

V B Kuznetsov, E K Sklyanin

Using the n-particle periodic Toda lattice and the relativistic generalization due to Ruijsenaars of the elliptic Calogero-Moser system as examples, we revise the basic properties of the Baecklund transformations (BT's) from the Hamiltonian point of view. The analogy between BT and Baxter's quantum Q-operator pointed out by Pasquier and Gaudin is exploited to produce a conjugated variable mu for the parameter lambda of the BT B_lambda such that mu belongs to the spectrum of the Lax operator L(lambda). As a consequence, the generating function of the composition of n BT's gives rise also to another canonical transformation separating variables for the model. For the Toda lattice the dual BT parametrized by mu is introduced.

Separation of variables and XXZ Gaudin magnet

Ernest G. Kalnins, Vadim B. Kuznetsov, Willard Miller

Abstract. In this work we generalise previous results connecting (rational) Gaudin magnet models and classical separation of variables. It is shown that the connection persists for the case of linear r-matrix algebra which corresponds to the trigonometric 4 × 4 r-matrix (of the XXZ type). We comment also on the corresponding problem for the elliptic (XYZ) r-matrix. A prescription for obtaining integrable systems associated with multiple poles of an L-operator is given. 1. Introduction. Separation of variables for the Hamilton-Jacobi and Schrödinger equations have long been known as methods for explicit solution of these equations in appropriate circumstances. The technical requirements for this method of solution have quite fully developed in recent years (see [1–8]). In particular the relationship between the separable systems and the Gaudin magnet [4,9] integrable

Gaudin magnet with boundary and generalized Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation

Kazuhiro Hikami

We consider the boundary quantum inverse scattering method established by Sklyanin (1988). The Gaudin magnet with boundary is diagonalized by taking a quasi-classical limit of the inhomogeneous lattice. Using the method proposed by Babujian (1993), the integral representation for the solution of the B-type Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation is explicitly constructed.
