Abstract

We discuss a rather surprising version of the twin paradox in which (contrary to the familiar classical version) the twin who accelerates is older on the reunion than his never accelerating brother.

The “triplet paradox” overthrows the “twin paradox”

Shukri Klinaku

The twin paradox will be explained using the triplet paradox. After returning from the journey, the travelling triplet cannot be younger than one and older than the other triplet, when the latter two rest at the two ends of the travelling triplet’s road!

Twin Paradox and Causality

T. Grandou, Jacques L. Rubin

After pointing out the historical avatar at the origin of a would be twin or clock paradox, we argue that, at least on a local scale, the (re-qualified) paradox is but a necessary consequence of the sole principle of causality.

Paradox of the Twins

Royal M. Frye, Virginia M. Brigham

There is no ambiguity about the relationship between time and motion, either in terms of experiments with rapidly moving mesons or canal rays, or in terms of general relativity theory. But contradictory results are obtained when it is attempted to make computations using only the special relativity theory. A number of opinions to the contrary have recently found their way into print.
