Abstract

We study in detail the generation and relaxation of quantum coherences (entanglement) in a system of coupled polariton traps. By exploiting a Lie algebraic based super-operator technique we provide an analytical exact solution for the Markovian dissipative dynamics (Master equation) of such system which is valid for arbitrary cluster size, polariton-polariton interaction strength, temperature and initial state. Based on the exact solution of the Master equation at T = OK, we discuss how dissipation affects the quantum entanglement dynamics of coupled polariton systems.

Generation and decay of entanglement in exciton∕polariton trapped systems

Luis Quiroga, C. Tejedor, Jisoon Ihm +1 more

The entanglement evolution of interacting trapped solid‐state bosons, i.e. excitons or polaritons, is theoretically studied. From an initially separable state the quasi‐particle interactions generate boson entanglement which is degraded as dissipation takes place. Based on exact solutions of a Markovian Master equation at T = 0 K, we discuss how dissipation affects the quantum entanglement dynamics of coupled solid‐state boson systems. The single trap Wigner function is also calculated and its relationship to the trapped boson entanglement is discussed.

On the validity of non-Markovian master equation approaches for the entanglement dynamics of two-qubit systems

Elena Ferraro, M. Scala, Rosanna Migliore +1 more

In the framework of the dissipative dynamics of coupled qubits interacting with independent reservoirs, a comparison between non-Markovian master equation techniques and an exact solution is presented here. We study various regimes in order to find the limits of validity of the Nakajima–Zwanzig and the time-convolutionless master equations in the description of the entanglement dynamics. A comparison between the performances of the concurrence and the negativity as entanglement measures for the system under study is also presented.

Entanglement dynamic of arbitrary number qubit in the open quantum systems

Zahra Bakhshi, E. Morsheddoost, Zeynali, A.

We study the entanglement dynamics of multi-qubit systems coupled to a common dissipative environment, focusing on systems with one or two initially excited qubits. Using the Lindblad master equation, we derive the time evolution of the density matrix and analyze the entanglement between qubit pairs via the concurrence measure. The solution method involves applying the Lindblad super-operator to the initial density matrix, generating a subspace of non-duplicate states. We extend our analysis to $n$-qubit systems, including three-qubit and four-qubit configurations, and explore the effects of thermal noise on entanglement dynamics. Our results demonstrate how initial conditions, system size, and environmental interactions shape entanglement, providing valuable insights for quantum information processing applications.

Dissipative State Engineering of Complex Entanglement with Markovian Dynamics

Manish Chaudhary

Highly multipartite entangled states play an important role in various quantum computing tasks. We investigate the dissipative generation of a complex entanglement structure as in a cluster state through engineered Markovian dynamics in the spin systems coupled via Ising interactions. Using the Lindblad master equation, we design a projection based dissipative channel that drives the system toward a unique pure steady state corresponding to the desired cluster state. This is done by removing the contribution of the orthogonal states. By explicitly constructing the Liouvillian superoperator in the full $2^N$-dimensional Hilbert space, we compute the steady-state density matrix, the Liouvillian spectral gap, entanglement witness and the fidelity with respect to the ideal cluster state. The results demonstrate that the cluster state emerges as the steady state when the engineered Liouvillian dissipation dominates over the local Ising interaction between spins. Moreover, we find that the fidelity and Liouvillian spectral gap is relatively insensitive to the system size once the saturation dissipation has been achieved that scales linearly with the qubit number. This analysis illustrates a physically realizable path towards steady-state entanglement generation in the spin systems using engineered dissipation.

Non-Markovian dissipative dynamics of two coupled qubits in independent reservoirs: Comparison between exact solutions and master-equation approaches

Elena Ferraro, M. Scala, Rosanna Migliore +1 more

The reduced dynamics of two interacting qubits coupled to two independent bosonic baths is investigated. The one-excitation dynamics is derived and compared with that based on the resolution of appropriate non-Markovian master equations. The Nakajima-Zwanzig and the time-convolutionless projection operator techniques are exploited to provide a description of the non-Markovian features of the dynamics of the two-qubit system. The validity of such approximate methods and their range of validity in correspondence to different choices of the parameters describing the system are brought to light.

Exact Analytical Solution for the Density Matrix of a Nonequilibrium Polariton Bose-Einstein Condensate

Vladislav Yu. Shishkov, E. S. Andrianov, Anton V. Zasedatelev +2 more

In this Letter, we give an analytical quantum description of a nonequilibrium polariton Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) based on the solution of the master equation for the full polariton density matrix in the limit of fast thermalization. We find the density matrix of a nonequilibrium BEC, that takes into account quantum correlations between all polariton states. We show that the formation of BEC is accompanied by the build-up of cross-correlations between the ground state and the excited states reaching their highest values at the condensation threshold. Despite the nonequilibrium nature of polariton systems, we show the average population of polariton states exhibits the Bose-Einstein distribution with an almost zero effective chemical potential above the condensation threshold similar to an equilibrium BEC. We demonstrate that above threshold the effective temperature of polaritons drops below the reservoir temperature.
