Decoherence of two qubits in a non-Markovian squeezed reservoir

Abstract

The decoherence of two initially entangled qubits in a squeezed vacuum cavity has been investigated exactly. The results show that, first, in principle, the disentanglement time decreases with the increasing of squeeze parameter r, due to the augmenting of average photon number of every mode in squeezed vacuum cavity. Second, there are entanglement revivals after complete disentanglement for the case of even parity initial Bell state, while there are entanglement decrease and revival before complete disentanglement for the case of odd parity initial Bell state. The results are quite different from that of the case for qubits in a vacuum cavity.

Decoherence-free subspace and disentanglement dynamics for two qubits in a common non-Markovian squeezed reservoir

Md. Manirul Ali, Po‐Wen Chen, Hsi‐Sheng Goan

We study the non-Markovian entanglement dynamics of two qubits in a common squeezed bath. We see a remarkable difference between the non-Markovian entanglement dynamics and its Markovian counterpart. We show that a non-Markovian decoherence-free state is also decoherence free in the Markovian regime, but all the Markovian decoherence-free states are not necessarily decoherence free in the non-Markovian domain. We extend our calculation from a squeezed vacuum bath to a squeezed thermal bath, where we see the effect of finite bath temperatures on the entanglement dynamics.

Decoherence and disentanglement for two qubits in a common squeezed reservoir

Maritza Hernandez, Miguel Orszag

We study the relation between the sudden death and revival of the entanglement of two qubits in a common squeezed bath and the decoherence. By getting ``close'' to the decoherence free subspace, we show that the death time shows a decrease and subsequent increase until the sudden death disappears and the concurrence goes to its steady-state value asymptotically.

Role of initial coherence on entanglement dynamics of two qubit X states

C. V. Namitha, S. V. M. Satyanarayana

Abstract Bipartite entanglement is a necessary resource in most processes in quantum information science. Decoherence resulting from the interaction of the bipartite system with environment not only degrades the entanglement, but can result in abrupt disentanglement, known as entanglement sudden death (ESD). In some cases, a subsequent revival of entanglement is also possible. ESD is an undesirable feature for the state to be used as a resource in applications. In order to delay or avoid ESD, it is necessary to understand its origin. In this work we investigate the role of initial coherence on entanglement dynamics of a spatially separated two qubit system in a common vacuum reservoir with dipolar interaction. We construct two classes of X states, namely, states with one photon coherence ( X 1 ) and states with two photon coherence ( X 2 ). Considering them as initial states, we study entanglement dynamics under Markov approximation. We find for states in X 1 , ESD time, revival time and time over which the state remains disentangled increase with increase in coherence. On the other hand for states in X 2 , with increase in coherence ESD time increases, revival time remains same and time of disentanglement decreases. Thus, states with two photon coherence are better resources for applications since their entanglement is robust against decoherence compared to states with one photon coherence.

Concurrence evolution of two qubits coupled with one-mode cavity separately

Weici Liu, Wang Fa-Qiang, Ruisheng Liang

The concurrence evolution of two qubits coupled with one-mode cavity separately is investigated exactly without adopting the rotating-wave approximation. The results show that for the resonant case, the concurrence evolution behaviour of the system is similar to that of the Markovian case when the coupling strength is weak, while the concurrence vanishes in a finite time and might revive fractional initial entanglement before it permanently vanishes when the coupling strength is strong. And for the detuning case, the entanglement could periodically recover after complete disentanglement. These results are quite different from those of system subjected to Jaynes–Cummings model.

Dynamics of entangled states in squeezed reservoirs

Khalid Saleh Aloufi, Smail B. Bougouffa, Z. Ficek

Dynamics of entangled states of two independent single-mode cavities in squeezed reservoirs is investigated in the context of matching of the correlations contained in the entangled states to those contained in the squeezed reservoir. We illustrate our considerations by examining the time evolution of entanglement of single and double excitation NOON and EPR states. A comparison is made when each cavity is coupled to own reservoir or both cavities are coupled to a common reservoir. It is shown that the evolution of the initial entanglement and transfer of entanglement from the squeezed reservoir to the cavity modes depend crucially on the matching of the initial correlations to that contained in the squeezed reservoir. In particular, it is found that initially entangled modes with correlations different from the reservoir correlations prevent the transfer of the correlations from the squeezed field to the modes. In addition, we find that the transient entanglement exhibits several features unique to quantum nature of squeezing. In particular, we show that in the case of separate squeezed reservoirs a variation of the decay time of the initial entanglement with the squeezing phase is unique to quantum squeezing. In the case of a common reservoir a recurrence of entanglement occurs and we find that this feature also results from the reservoir correlations unique to quantum squeezing. There is no revival of entanglement when the modes interact with a classically squeezed field.
