Abstract

We propose two schemes to engineer four-partite entangled Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) and $W$ states in a deterministic way by using chains of (two-level) Rydberg atoms within the framework of cavity QED. These schemes are based on the resonant interaction of the atoms with a bimodal cavity that simultaneously supports, in contrast to a single-mode cavity, two independent modes of the photon field. In addition, we suggest the schemes to reveal the nonclassical correlations for the engineered GHZ and $W$ states. It is shown how these schemes can be extended in order to produce general $N$-partite entangled GHZ and $W$ states.

Generation of two-dimensional cluster states by using high-finesse bimodal cavities

Denis Gonţa, Thomas Radtke, S. Fritzsche

We propose two schemes to generate the two-dimensional $2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}N$ and $3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}N$ cluster states by using a chain of (two-level) Rydberg atoms in the framework of cavity QED. These schemes work in a completely deterministic way and are based on the resonant interaction of the atoms in a chain with a bimodal cavity that supports two independent modes of the photon field. We demonstrate that a $2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}N$ cluster state can be generated efficiently with only a single bimodal cavity, while two such cavities are needed to produce a $3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}N$ cluster state. It is shown, moreover, how these schemes can be extended toward the generation of $M\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}N$ two-dimensional cluster states.

Generation of four-particle GHZ states in bimodal cavity QED

杨贞标

We propose a scheme for preparing four-particle Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger states using two identical bimodal cavities, each supports two modes with different frequencies. This scheme is an alternative to another published work [Christopher C Gerry 1996 Phys. Rev. A 53 4591]. Comparisons between them are discussed. The fidelity and the probability of success influenced by cavity decay for the generated states are also considered.

Simple schemes for generating the three-atom W state and the Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger state among nonidentical atoms

Xin Ji, Tianquan Lü, Shou Zhang

We present two schemes for generating the three-atom W state and the GHZ state with one ?-type atom and two 2-level atoms interacting resonantly with two modes or one mode of a two-mode field in turns. The schemes neither require the three atoms to go through the cavity simultaneously (which is difficult to realize in experiment), nor require the detection of photons. The schemes work beyond the strong-coupling regime, so that we can obtain high-fidelity entanglement.

A Simple Scheme for the Preparation of Four-Photon GHZ States Based on Cavity QED

Deng-Yu Zhang, Shi-Qing Tang, Xin-Wen Wang +4 more

A simple scheme is presented for generating four-photon Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states with a large detuned interaction between a three-level atom and two bimodal cavities. In the proposed protocol, the quantum information is encoded on Fock states of the cavity-fields, and the atomic spontaneous emission can be effectively suppressed due to the fact that the excited state of the atom is adiabatically eliminated under the large detuning condition. The detection of the atom can collapse the cavity to the desired state. The experimental feasibility of our proposal is also discussed.

Entanglement engineering of a GHZ-state and W-state using arbitrary numbers of cavities

Zainub Liaqat, Aeysha Khalique, Manzoor Ikram

Abstract We develop a theoretical model for entanglement engineering to generate a multipartite system of field states in high-Q cavities using a cavity-QED. Our model consists of two-level atoms interacting successively with the field inside the arbitrary number of high-Q cavities for pre-calculated interaction times of the atoms with the fields. Controlling these pre-calculated interaction times of the atom-field gives the successful generation of the Greenberg–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state and the W-state in N cavities. We also evaluate the dynamics of entanglement of GHZ entangled field states when they interact with the reservoir.

Achieving multipartite entanglement of distant atoms through selective photon emission and absorption processes

Xin‐You Lü, Liu-Gang Si, Xiangying Hao +1 more

We propose two schemes for deterministically generating three-partite Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) and $W$ states of distant atoms based on the selective photon emission and absorption processes. In our schemes, it is found that the effects of atomic spontaneous decay and photon leakage out of fiber are suppressed effectively due to the presences of dispersive atom-field interaction and strong cavity-fiber coupling intensity. To check the experimental feasibility of our schemes, we also numerically simulated the effects of photon leakage out of the cavities, and the numerical simulation shows that our proposal is good enough to demonstrate the generation of three-partite GHZ and $W$ states of distant atoms with high fidelity. In addition, the present schemes can also be generalized to prepare N-partite $W$ state of distant atoms.
