Abstract

We study complexified harmonic oscillator models in two and three dimensions. Our work is a generalization of the work of Smilga (2007 Preprint 0706.4064 ( J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. at press)) who initiated the study of these Crypto-gauge invariant models that can be related to PT -symmetric models. We show that rotational symmetry in higher spatial dimensions naturally introduces more constraints (in contrast to Smilga (2007 Preprint 0706.4064 ( J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. at press)) where one deals with a single constraint) with a much richer constraint structure. Some common as well as distinct features in the study of the same Crypto-oscillator in different dimensions are revealed. We also quantize the two dimensional Crypto-oscillator.

A non-Hermitian oscillator Hamiltonian and su(1, 1): a way towards generalizations

C. Quesne

The family of metric operators, constructed by Musumbu et al (2007 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 40 F75), for a harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian augmented by a non-Hermitian PT-symmetric part, is re-examined in the light of an su(1,1) approach. An alternative derivation, only relying on properties of su(1,1) generators, is proposed. Being independent of the realization considered for the latter, it opens the way towards the construction of generalized non-Hermitian (not necessarily PT-symmetric) oscillator Hamiltonians related by similarity to Hermitian ones. Some examples of them are reviewed. Short title: Non-Hermitian oscillator Hamiltonian and su(1,1)

Title: Non-Linear Harmonic Oscillator – Quantum Field Theory Insights

Jincheng Zhang

This paper investigates the application of non-linear harmonic oscillators within the framework of quantum field theory, seeking to provide a deeper understanding of fundamental forces and their dynamics. The core focus is to develop a novel method, termed the "quantum-geometric" algorithm, that leverages geometric properties to represent and model quantum fields. Traditional approaches often struggle with the inherent complexities of quantum mechanics, and this research proposes a shift towards a more intuitive and geometric representation, potentially offering new insights into the nature of quantum phenomena. We present a preliminary algorithm and discuss its implications for both theoretical modeling and the potential for future advancements in quantum field theory.

Free-particle and harmonic-oscillator propagators in two and three dimensions

U Fernando Chaos, Lorea Chaos‐Cador, E. Ley‐Koo

This contribution illustrates how to construct free-particle and harmonic-oscillator quantum-mechanical propagators in two and three dimensions in cartesian, and in circular and spherical coordinates, respectively, starting from the corresponding one-dimensional propagators in cartesian coordinates.

Two-parametric PT-symmetric quartic family

Alexandre Eremenko, Andrei Gabrielov

We describe a parametrization of the real spectral locus of the two-parametric family of PT-symmetric quartic oscillators. For this family, we find a parameter region where all eigenvalues are real, extending the results of Dorey et al (2007 J. Phys. A: Math Theor. 40 R205–83) and Shin (2005 J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 38 6147–66; 2002 Commun. Math. Phys. 229 543–64).

Quantization of the dynamics of a particle on a double cone by preserving Noether symmetries

Giorgio Gubbiotti, Maria Clara Nucci

The classical quantization of the motion of a free particle and that of an harmonic oscillator on a double cone are achieved by a quantization scheme [M.C. Nucci, Theor.Math.Phys.168 (2011) 994], that preserves the Noether point symmetries of the underlying Lagrangian in order to construct the Schrödinger equation. The result is different from that given in [K.Kowalski, J. Rembielński, Ann.Phys.329 (2013) 146].A comparison of the different outcomes is provided.
