The Entanglement of theXYSpin Chain in a Random Magnetic Field

Abstract

We investigate the entanglement of the ferromagnetic XY model in a random magnetic field at zero temperature and in the uniform magnetic field at finite temperatures. We use the concurrence to quantify the entanglement. We find that, in the ferromagnetic region of the uniform magnetic field $h$, all the concurrences are \textit{generated} by the random magnetic field and by the thermal fluctuation. In one particular region of $h$, the next-nearest neighbor concurrence is generated by the random field but not at finite temperatures. We also find that the qualitative behavior of the maximum point of the entanglement in the random magnetic field depends on whether the variance of its distribution function is finite or not.

Entanglement of the Heisenberg XXX spin chain under uniform and nonuniform magnetic fields

D. Tian

We study the nearest and next nearest neighbor entanglement of the Heisenberg XXX spin chain (antiferromagnet) under uniform and nonuniform magnetic fields up to 10 spins. At zero absolute temperature,we show that there are staircase structures in concurrence C,this may be used to construct a quantum entanglement amplifier or switch. For finite temperature,we show that when a nonuniform magnetic field Bi=(-1)iB is introduced, the nearest neighbor entanglement may be enhanced at certain regions of B and T,while the next nearest neighbor entanglement completely disappeared. The critical temperature Tcn at which the nearest neighbor entanglement vanishes is also improved by introducing the nonuniform magnetic field Bi=(-1)iB,Tcn increases with the increase of B,which means one can get entanglement at any temperature by adjusting the magnetic field strength.

Thermal entanglement in the two-qubit Heisenberg XY model under a nonuniform external magnetic field

Yang Sun, Yuguang Chen, Hong Chen

We investigate the thermal entanglement in the two-qubit Heisenberg XY model with a nonuniform magnetic field. Concurrence, the measurement of entanglement, is calculated. The behavior of concurrence is present at three different cases. Contrary to the uniform magnetic field case, we find that the entanglement and the critical temperature ${T}_{C}$ may be enhanced under a nonuniform magnetic field.

Thermal Entanglement of Anisotropic XY Chains in a Transverse Field

Xiao-Yue Zhai, Tong Pei-Qing

By using the concept of concurrence, we numerically investigate the thermal entanglement between any two nearest-neighbour spins in uniform and periodic anisotropic XY chains in a transverse field at finite temperature T . It is found that the entanglement has more than one critical temperatures on some parameter regions for uniform and periodic chains. We also discuss the behaviour of the thermal entanglement at the vicinity of quantum phase transition of periodic anisotropic XY chains and find that all the derivatives ∂ λ C have similar behaviour as that of the uniform chain.

Thermal entanglement properties of N-qubit quantum Heisenberg chain in a two-component magnetic field

Ümit Akıncı, Erol Vatansever, Yusuf Yüksel

We elucidate the finite temperature entanglement properties of $N=9$ qubits Heisenberg $XX$ and $XXZ$ models under the presence of a polarized magnetic field in $xz$ plane by means of concurrence concept. We perform a systematic analysis for a wide range of the system parameters. Our results suggest that the global phase regions which separate the entangled and non-entangled regions sensitively depend upon the spin-spin interaction term of the $z-$ component of two neighboring spins $J_{z}/J_{x}$, temperature as well as polarized magnetic field components. Thereby, we think that polarized magnetic field can be used a control parameter to determine the amount of thermal entanglement between pair of qubits for different temperatures and spin-spin interaction terms. Moreover, it has been found that the nearest-neighbor pair of qubits does not point out a re-entrant type entanglement character when one only deals with the nearest-neighbor pair of qubits. However, as one considers next-nearest neighbor pair of qubits, it is possible to see the evidences of re-entrant type entanglement behaviors.

ENTANGLEMENT IN THE XY HEISENBERG MODEL

Xin Tian, Jia-tih Lin, Liang Liu +1 more

We investigate the thermal entanglement of two-qubit anisotropic Heisenberg XY model in the presence of an external nonuniform magnetic field B along the z-axis. Concurrence, the measure of entanglement is calculated and its property is studied in different cases. Two best models, Ising model under a uniform magnetic and isotropic model in a nonuniform magnetic field, are discovered. In the two models, the critical temperature Tc (above which there is no entanglement) can be enhanced and its concurrence is maximal.

Anisotropy and Magnetic Field Effects on the Genuine Multipartite Entanglement of Multi-Qubit Heisenberg {\it XY} Chains

Chang Chi Kwong, Ye Yeo

It has been shown that, for the two-qubit Heisenberg XY model, anisotropy and magnetic field may together be used to produce entanglement for any finite temperature by adjusting the external magnetic field beyond some finite critical strength. This interesting result arises from an analysis employing the Wootters concurrence, a computable measure of entanglement for two-qubit states. Recently, Mintert {\em et al.} proposed generalizations of Wootters concurrence for multipartite states. These MKB concurrences possess a mathematical property that enables one to understand the origin of this characteristic behavior. Here, we first study the effect of anisotropy and magnetic field on the multipartite thermal entanglement of a four-qubit Heisenberg XY chain using the MKB concurrences. We show that this model exhibits characteristic behavior similar to that of the two-qubit model. In addition, we show that this can again be understood using the same mathematical property. Next, we show that the six-qubit Heisenberg XY chain possesses properties necessary for it to have the characteristic behavior too. Most importantly, it is possible to directly measure the multipartite MKB concurrences of pure states. This may provide an experimental verification of our conjecture that for a Heisenberg XY chain of any even number of qubits, it is always possible to obtain non-zero genuine multipartite entanglement at any finite temperature by applying a sufficiently large magnetic field.
