CU Boulder’s CUbit Quantum Initiative, alongside various regional organizations and government support, has released a roadmap to develop a robust quantum workforce for Colorado and the Mountain West. With input from educational institutions, government agencies, and quantum tech companies, this roadmap aims to cultivate a diverse talent pipeline to meet the rising demand in the quantum industry.
Central to this effort is Elevate Quantum, a coalition of 120 organizations that recently received over $120M in funding as part of Colorado's designation as a tech hub for quantum information technology. The roadmap outlines a multi-tiered educational strategy, including K-12, community college programs, and university partnerships to make quantum skills accessible to a broader audience, with a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion. The goal: grow Colorado’s quantum workforce from 3,000 to 10,000 by the next decade, ensuring the region remains a leader in quantum innovation.
