Nanotechnology Molecular Modellers - Polymeric Systems for Medical Advancements

We have put an application in for the use of quantum computers to overcome challenges in macromolecular modelling. If anyone is interested please let us know!
Nanotechnology Molecular Modellers
Designing advanced polymer nanotherapeutics relies on accurately modelling the interactions within very large molecular systems. Classical computers struggle because polymer chains contain millions of interacting atoms, creating an exponential increase in computational complexity. This limitation constrains our ability to predict molecular behaviour and design next-generation medical materials and devices. Our team has extensive experience in developing novel polymeric materials but experimentally formulating and testing them is time-consuming and costly. High-accuracy simulations offer a far more efficient and cost-effective route, allowing us to explore promising candidates before committing to synthesis. By designing ideal polymers computationally, the most promising materials can be directly incorporated into future nanotherapeutics. Quantum computing offers a transformative approach, enabling large-scale simulations that capture the full complexity of these systems. Overcoming classical hardware limits with quantum methods can accelerate the discovery and design of polymer nanotherapeutics, contributing directly to improved human health and wellbeing. This project aligns with the International Year of Quantum themes of quantum for health, quantum for industry, and quantum for discovery, demonstrating how quantum technologies can advance real-world biomedical applications.

Hi Hasan - did you manage to find a team? If not Colin and I would be very happy to meet with you and discuss how you could contribute to what we are working on. There are several elements - from pure Comp modelling to applications we have been trialling that we want to find evidence for product design and market need on.

Hi Swifthom - thanks for the message!
Yes, I’m part of a team of four Computer Science students from the University of Bradford, and we submitted our initial proposal yesterday based on the concept of drug-testing simulation (which is very similar to what you're doing!). We’re using Quantinuum’s Nexus platform to explore quantum-enhanced molecular modelling, so there’s definitely overlap with what your team is working on.
We’d still love to connect and explore how we might contribute or collaborate - especially around the computational modelling and product validation aspects you mentioned. Let me know if you and Colin are free for a quick chat on Teams.
